We've had some new folks joining us so it wouldn't hurt to remind people to review and abide by the rules of this site, and to know who staff members are. The links to this information can be found above and also on the sidebar.

It is your responsibility to know this information and most importantly to respect your fellow posters. We have a small but really great community here and we all want to keep it that way.

If you have any questions or issues please feel free to PM either myself or bare_elf. Thanks!

it would be nice if the forum had a report post feature to flag "offensive" material.

dont look at me. i'm actually with the spam police since i hate being "pimped" into buying handbags and shoes... Laughing out loud

looks at Femme Tongue actually that not a bad idea, but I haven't seen anything "offensive" on this site in quite a long time, me thinks the spammers are pretty much gone. But I wonder if a button existed, people would just report others just for spite? be kinda like facebook's delete and block features...after years of being on sites, I have developed a thick skin, I can take "constructive criticism" turn the other cheek and hope to help others in their pursuit of answers.

So it has been written, and so it shall cometh to pass! Quothe The Darkelf, forevermore!

The reason you don't see spam so much is mostly due to bare_elf's diligence in zapping the spammers. I do think the spamming has slowed down a bit though. I haven't deleted any for a few weeks.

The report post is a good idea and if we were a bigger site it might be a useful feature, but in a site this small it probably doesn't make sense to implement.

I don't know, I don't think "spite" reporting would be an issue...folks here are pretty cool and laid back for the most part.

Except for that Darkelf dude...yeesh.
*wink wink* Tongue

I personally think a thanks or a like button would be cool

Remember people we are not a social media site with thousands upon thousands of members and posts. We are a small community of people who play and mod Dungeon Siege Games. so a report post feature to flag "offensive" material is really unnecessary. As a moderator I read every post almost every day and I am sure Kathy does as well. If we find something we feel is "offensive" we will deal with it. If you find something offensive you can either PM Kathy or myself or you can in non-offensive format, explain your feelings to the person that offended you. Now as to a thanks and/or like button. I would suggest an alternative. If someone helps you, thank them with a brief post in the forum or thread where you where helped. If you see something you like, do the same thing. Tell the person you like what they are doing or whatever. To me just flagging something with the click of a button is very impersonal.

There are software reasons to for not adding these features which I will not go into. Not feeling long winded tonight.

Example of a like post.

Sol77 thank you for mantaining the site's domain name and having the site
hosted for us. You ask nothing of us thank you for the gift of Siege the Day.

KathyCF thank you dear friend for your hard work, thoughts, ideas and most of all thank you for being my friend.

Elf presses the stop rant button and heads for bed, good night everyone

Thank you for listening

I'll try to work on being offensive. Then we can have a flag button.

To install a like button on this old software would be an effort that far out weighs the result. You can just go to their forum and tell them what you think. All the major works on the site have their own forums. Or you if you chose not to write anything in the forum just use the  smiley they will get your meaning.

:welcome: please enjoy your stay here at Siege the Day and should you have questions please ask we are here to help
