I think it is because cat mansion characters are short, or maybe they are just cruel and twisted. The other day I saw a Krug who looked as if he had a tail made of arrows. Try a spell like dagger furry or flame blades and see what happens with a tall monster. Looks like it might really hurt.

it is two characters standing very close together. remember in DS1 characters would often overlap. Not exactly sure why it happened but it could cause some very funny and for the characters embarrassing situations. Not sure of the technical reason for this overlap of characters.
