Photobucket issues

It appears that Photobucket.com no longer supports the Opera Web Browser Version 12.17 Build 1863 Platform x64 System Windows 7. It only works with the latest version 28. Now the newest version of Opera I do not like. It assumes that it knows better than you what should be done. I hate computer companies that just assume that they know best.

I use to like photobucket but it displays a lot of ads now, so I don't use it anymore, besides siegetheday lets us upload pictures here. its interesting that the site don't work with opera perhaps opera not allowing photobucket popups etc.

No it actually used to work version 12.17 of Opera in fact it worked last week. checked on some photobucket forums and and opera forums and anyone using version 12 or 15 is having the same problem as I have been. Contacted photobucket support earlier today and the answer I got was Use a different browser or a newer version of opera. what do you expect from us anyway support for all browsers? At this point I hung up the phone really really hard.

Think I might be able to get used to the new opera even if it does not allow you to add a home button, print button, and to get to print or other functions that used to live on the navagation bar you have to open a pull down menu. extra step but oh well.

the Elf speaking from Opera 28

I've never had a problem with photobucket, at least with pop ups. I use Firefox with Noscript addon. I have so many pics with photobucket I don't know if I could stop using them...but I hear Imgur is supposed to be pretty good and you can create albums and stuff.

That's too bad about your browser, lili. I feel too many companies are treating their customers like dummies.

Anyway, I am just rambling at this point so I will shut up now. Smile

Well, persoanlly I prefer free hosters for entire web pages over those optimized for pictures only...

Concerning Photobucket, just checked once the source code of the page, looking for external domain calls.
Just for fun I added them to the Windows 'hosts' file...

... and amazingly just browing images on Photobucket still works (with me).
We may wonder now what all these server requests are needed for...
