Throwing Frogs

I know that these animals do not have attack animations, however maybe they could be turned in to munitions for ranged weapons or spells. A plague of frogs spell, where when the spell is cast dozens of frogs that pop into existence near the bad guys. If the frog where attackable it would divert the bad guys into attacking the frogs instead of your party. A throwing cat, along the lines of the School Girl's throwing book or Beach Girl's Throwing fish. A spell that rains cats and dogs. Okay I know it is silly but my mind is running wild Insane always seems to happen when I start designing new armor. Yes working on some custom skins that add tattoos to not only Utraeans, but also dryads and humans. Not sure if they would look correct on elves. I do not know why I say that I am an elf and I have three tattoos.

There is a glyph in WoW ( little thing that adds a little feature or changes a spell slightly ) that allows the shaman class to cast a rain of frogs (purely for visual effect). Of course that has nothing to do with DS soooo...yeah. off topic

What are your tattoos? I have two, one on each ankle, of a dragonfly and a celtic symbol.

Well, a 'Frog Rain' with paralyzing furuncle risk sounds like a malicious attack! :o

However DS2 could provide a Frog too - or at least something very similar based on the Skeen monster:

Originally a Skeen is a magical fire spitting monster, bot it's imaginable to modify the Soul Lance spell/effect in a way that may look like a chameleon-like 'tongue attack'.

Edit:
Post broken - don't know how/why... Puzzled

Well Krug are very easy to confuse so a purely visual effect might just work kathy
The tattoos are on my lower back and lower legs from below the knees to ankles they can be covered with crew socks if I feel the need. All are Celtic in origin.

Anyhow this forum doesn't like the way anymore how I was used to post links and images...!? :o

However, the DS2 Skeen monster...
http://dungeonsiege2.net/ds2fun/monsters/index.php?hash=1&cat=ds2_evil_d&focus=m_c_edm_024_pos_1#m_c_edm_024_pos_1

...can be transformed into a long-legged fron by custom and partially transparent texture:

I just used this frog so far for peaceful ambient purposes so it didn't matter what attack aninmation support there was.
Indeed a Skeen is a magical fire spitting monster originally with one rather static attack animation. But it's imaginable to modify the Soul Lance spell/effect for example in a way that it may look like a chameleon-like 'tongue attack'.

First of all KillerGremal you are the first person who has reported a problem with posting links. If others have had problems I wish they would report them. Second I really like your ideas for the attack frog. Using the soul lance spell/effect to look like a tongue attack would be super.

Thank you for reporting the problem with the site and the frog ideas

@bare_elf: Hm, I had big problems to post a link below/around the image - two days ago.
Take once a look at that:

...even the formum structure/table broke up - 'reply' and 'quote' options are at the wrong place (with me)!

And at the moment, from my perspective it would be a bad idea to update (edit and re-save) a post like this - at least in the preview it seems all links and images will be gone then!(?) :o ...just try to quote the whole post and preview yourself.

I tried the skeen model with transparency at first when I made the frogs for the Halloween Special mod, but found that it left a hole at the back end. It wasn't hard to edit the mesh instead, so I did. If you want the mesh, I probably still have it separate from the mod, if I can find it...

I certainly have the whole mod, and it was uploaded here (so may still be accessible?)

I don't recall making any new animations. We just had the frogs spit poison.

Edit: The frog may have found its way into the rescue map, too.

@ghastley: Yes, there may be a texture hole, and that even talked/PM'ed about it!? There was something strange I think with the animations, resp. that the existing Skeen animations did no longer work for your revised model?

Luckily the matter is quite ignorable in-game if the frog is small, but of course it may bother more for a big monster frog though.

If I can remember all that way back, I removed the tail bones as well as the tail skin, so I had to remake the animations for the reduced skeleton. So yes, there were a new set of frog-specific animations. I probably took the opportunity to make them more frog-like, especially the hopping movement.

The problem is with & characters inside <a href=""> sequences. Blank them out and the posts preview correctly. Links are clickable - but without their ampersands may not display correctly!

Might this be something to do with & being html escape character?

@RSimpkinuk57: Thanks for your remark, the ampersand really could be it.
So let's try another way...:

Hm there is really some thing strange, my prvious post merged with a post from RSimpkinuk57! Puzzled
...and with other posts too as it seems!?

Moreover, there is not 'edit' link anymore, so I can not edit/fix that post! Sad

The bottom half of the now-combined post being mine, I'm the one who gets the 'edit' link on it.

But what I get to edit is my original post. I suspect we have two separate posts "in the system" but something in @Killer Gremal's makes the display software jump from the middle of one to the middle of the next. If I were to post an edit there it may not do any good and might even make things worse, so I'm not going to try - let the site techies see if they can puzzle out what is wrong without the waters being muddied further.
