Active still?

Hello everyone. I have been away from DS2 for quite some time, but came back to it when I heard about the expansion. I was just wondering how active the modding community is, and how popular the game still is? I noticed a few of the modding sites I'd posted to have gone (Guru's, siege-mods.com and a few others).

Non-party guard

In the DSLoA XP expansion, the Hassat "Tareese" was a non-party member who still guarded the strongest character of the main party. You could heal and resurrect him, but not give him armor or weapons.

I'd like to do the same with Grendeline the goblinette and I've tried modifying the flick used for the lost guards at Winstone fortress, subsituting guard for follow, and not making her invincible. The problem is that if she becomes unconscious, she stops guarding and thus following.

Has anyone else done anything like this in DS2? Can you add skrit to a template like DS1, or just flick (and call the skrit from there)? I'm assuming that a modification of hassat_guardian.skrit will still work.

Region swapping

If you played Yesterhaven for DS1, you're familiar with the way that the town was multiple regions "in the same place" and I'm looking at doing the same thing in DS2.

My project is reusing the Kalrathia to Darthrul regions from the DS2 world, with new or revised mobs and npc's, and I'd like to have two instances of the a3_02_03_mordencity region with the second being a cleaned-up or repaired version after the baddies have been defeated. The latter would have all weeds, shuibs and morden artifacts removed and more decorative elements in their place.

Has anyone done anything like this? If so any pointers on stitching would be appreciated.

My first DS2 mod!

I would like to share my first DS2 mod! Its a very powerful summoning spell called "Summon Greater Undead" I set it to level 0 so everyone can enjoy it. I think you will like the new monster very much also, the Greater Bone Golem Magus. He is large, fast, and has some nice custom spells at his disposol. If he is used in PVP (due to some PVP mod), I greatly reccomend fire, as he is extremly vulnerable to it.

The Readme which is in the zip file is also here:

To install, place in your DS2 resource dir.

The Included spell is very powerful, but it is level 0 for testing purposes.

Chicken World II

As you may have recently heard, I have finally released my Chicken World II map/mod for DS2. It is a non-final version, which I only placed so that I can revise it if needed, plus I may be adding more to it later, if I generate more ideas. But until then, I decided to give you guys a taste of it. I was up all night last night making the last touches on the map and a few last-minute changes on the mod. So here you go!

Vanish on death

How can I make a monster disappear upon death, the same way summons do?
