Blunder Storm?

I am starting to worry about my sanity! I started a new Game of "Kingdom of Ehb" -- I am using Cat Mansion Adepts and Legends of Utrae -- I am wondering if you see the same things as me playing without CMA and LoU. I arrive in Stonebride and when I arrive in the center of town I speak to the townswoman standing at the water pump. Her name in my game is Mara and she says "A few Pitchforks and Rake Handles aren't a reason to put all of Stonebridge to the 10 Stone!" There is more to the conversation like the krugs saying things about Gresh and how she wants to find Gresh and put some hurt on him.

I would like to know if it is just my set up or occurs the regular game.

Elf your just Insane live with it. Wink

I recognise those remarks.

I seem to remember the Tenstone (spelt like that) being mentioned once more, I forget where, but we go through the whole Kingdom of Ehb map without the allusion being explained. I never twigged that its "Ten" was for the Legion.

I've the retail LoA version of DS1 which means I've two launch icons, one that brings the DSLOA folder into play and one, the original game, that does not. I've always played Kingdom of Ehb the latter way so as not to gain unfair advantage of Utraean weapons, armor and spells. This means playing Kingdom of Ehb (and Utraean Peninsula, first time I played it) without legendsofutrae.dsres which, following instructions, I put in DSLOA folder.

By the way, I wrote up detailed walkthroughs for myself of both the Ehb and the LoA maps, but not for the UP, and my hazy memories of the last have been overlayed by extra convos and lore from Legendary Mod. Maybe I should start a regular game of UP in parallel with my current LoU so as to compare the two.

Thank you for confirming that you recall that conversation. Yes the Tenstone was the symbol of the 10 Legion. Very much like military units of today have jacket patches or other distinctive gear to mark who they are. No one would ever mistake for example the Royal Lifeguards or Yeomen Warders for another military units. I do not remember if we where ever told what the other Legions in the game symbols where.

I must be twisting up things from Legends of Aranna, Legends of Utrae and Kingdom of Ehb. I will have to play all three again from start to finish.
You posted that (in another thread) on Tue, 2019-02-26 07:27

Did you really write that here on Thu, 2019-02-21 02:46, or did you overtype some earlier remarks (about goings on in Washington, I seem to recall) without the date-time stamp being updated?

Over typed an older blog post, since I did not wish to use the same title twice. Good Eye!

Does anyone know why Jeriah keeps an extra head on a shelf in his trading post? Is it his civil head? He definitely wearing the cranky one. He must dislike Merik the grand mage even more than I do. Smile I think I will leave them together.

Jeriah just seems to be the kind of guy who would have a head on a shelf. I noticed also (I think I put this is a blog post) that there appears to be a body laying on the floor. It looks like Jeriah hastily covered the body up when the party comes to his door.

The old man in Legends of Aranna also has the same head on his shelf. The one in the cabin by the frozen lake with the displacer in his yard. There must be dozens upon dozens of big head blond clones being murdered and decapitated just to decorate shelves. Such carnage! Shock

I wonder if the shopkeepers who have heads on their shelves are hunting Chris Look a likes? That would make me quite Thor about things. Wink That is just a joke for Kathy.

A waste of a perfectly good shelf, that's for Thor. Why have a just a head when you could have, you know...the head "plus" on a shelf (with pulse, tyvm) Then it would be so much Thor convenient.
