Editing party portraits?

Hi, another question from me--is it possible to edit the party portraits in DS/LoA? I found the party members' skins using Tank Viewer, and can tweak those to my liking. Thing is, that only changes the textures on the actual character model--the portraits are unchanged. I poked around in Tank Viewer and my dumb butt can't find the textures for the portraits. So my question is, where are the portraits in the game files?

Any help is greatly appreciated! <3

Aha, thank you! I guess I just missed those before. Laughing out loud

Alright, so I have a quick "test" texture ready to go, just to make sure it works before I commit to the great big party makeover extravaganza. Aaaaand... Tank Creator's randomly decided to stop working. I have the paths configured correctly, but the new tanked file just isn't being made. I'm on Windows 10 home edition, and so far I've tried turning off my firewall, turning off antivirus and Malware Bytes, and also disabling controlled folder access. No dice on any of those. I'm pretty thoroughly stumped.

Hi there Vegan-love the name! Smile

I recently had a problem with Tank Creator suddenly stopping to work. My issue was Windows 10 security (not just the anti-virus) blocking tank creator so I had to manually allow the app. You could try that or take a look at this comment by Moros. He probably won't call you a prawn.

Yep, kathy's right about most things but this time she's wrong, you're a prawn Vegan for not looking in the Taskbar Notifications window, (you know that little window on the bottom right of your screen) you have got it turned on haven't you, if not, then turn it on Now, it will alert you when Windows Security has interfered when you're making a dsres tank.

Hmmmm, I can't tell you exactly what I did as I haven't made a tank for a while, sooner or later I'll make a thread about Win10 and its idiosyncrasies, that should send everyone to sleep pretty damned quick.

I'm constantly having to allow the RTC through Windows Security on a weekly basis as Windows is changing what we know as a safe program to use and what Windows misidentifies it as and tags it as a Threat. I can't make Windows recognize that the RTC is safe to use as a few days later it decides to give it another name and blocks me from making a tank again, until you modify the Virus & Threat Protection setting for it you're screwed.

In my case I think I had to go to Settings, Udate & Security, Windows Security, Virus & Threat Protection, it should be in the Current Threats section, I think you'll need to look in the Allowed Threats or Protection History to modify it to let it through Windows Security, if you check your notification window when you can't make a tank it gives you a clue as to what or where the problem area is. When I can't make a tank again I'll write down the exact steps that I used to allow the RTC past the Windows Security nonsense.

Thats basically it for me, I don't know how kathy's system is setup for the RTC, (perhaps if one asks nicely and doesn't call her house a shed or that she's a weirdo yank with a penchant for reading weirdo books she might tell you, over to you kathy.

Prawn, eh? I've been called worse. Smile

Anyway, I'm not even getting notifications for Windows Security blocking the program--and before you ask, yes, I do have notifications enabled. So allowing the "threat" in there is right out.

Can you open up Win10 Security from Settings? From there you might find a notification about TankCreator. Also check the taskbar down by the clock. My win defender has a little hangout there above an arrow. I'm not sure what else can help, but your situation is similar to the ones experienced by Moros and I and those were definitely security related. Frankly it's really an annoyance, as every time there is a protection update I have to re enable permissions for TC. Since I'm working on a few modding projects right now I feel like I'm constantly doing this.

As for prawns, at least you didn't get called a doll's head and had your home and reading tastes mocked. You need to keep an eye on that Moros character, he's a tricksy one. Tongue Wink

Dunno what I did, because I must have clicked through the same menus a thousand times, but somewhere in my fiddling, I apparently did something right. Laughing out loud Now to get into troub-- err, I mean get to work! Wink

Good grief kathy, you're not still going on about that are you, it might interest you to know that I'd had a serious breakdown that day, not a mental one by the way but a vehicle one, it was still a breakdown nonetheless, anyway if the police insist on saying that I'd had one I'm not going to disagree with them, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. That's the spirit old boy, next time try and remember what you did and post it up here so we can all marvel at your Windows ingenuity. Wink
