I wonder about meshes.

I was wondering if Skyrim .nif files (Skyrim meshes) be converted to Dungeon Siege .asp files (Dungeon Siege meshes). That would be nice because we could correct some body issues with male characters.

Does anyone know if it is possible or a program that will do this?

There's probably no single program that does both formats, but gMAX will import/export wavefront object (.pbj) files as well as having the .asp support. Blender and others have .nif support and .obj support, so the combination will do the job. However, you can get male meshes in .obj format form other places, so Skyrim as a source isn't necessarily the easiest option.

But that's just the mesh. You'll also probably need to convert animations from .kf to .prs via a similar route, and sort out the various ways of applying textures. It's not just a conversion of each map - which Photoshop or GIMP will do, but also determining which types (diffuse, specular, transparency, bump, etc.) are supported, and how you specify each one for the mesh. Skyrim LE isn't even the same as Skyrim Se in some of that.

I recall Snowfox doing some early work in persuading the DS engine to handle bump maps and other shaders, but I'm not sure where to find the details. Bottom line is that not everything will port down to DS.

Then I guess if I want anatomically correct male and female nudity I will just play skyrim Smile

The painful part would be rigging them for DS2. You would have to redo all the animations as well. The bump map texture caused issues with how DS' engine handled shadows.
