Throne of Agony released

Throne of agony was relased today in the North Americas for Sony's portable playstation system - the PSP.

Throne of Agony's storyline takes place a month after the end of Dungeon Siege 2 and ties closely into the events ending that game's storyline. The game's gameplay is estimated to 15 hours but according to the developers ended up being more like 20-25 hours.

The game offers 4 premade characters to choose from that can be shaped as they gain experience according to the players whishes. Each character is tied to the storyline in a personal way so there are essentially 4 stories to be told. As the story progresses pets and other companions are made available.

Playing through the storyline will answer questions as to why the Aggallan giants disappeared and what their true nature is.

Two players can play ToA together in a multiplayer co-op session.

Seems like a sweet game. Maybe I'll get a PSP and ToA and then install linux on it once I've finished the game. ^_^

If you have an i-pod, try installing linux on that, i heard that works too. ^_^

Well I just got ToA and must say they did a wonderful job. The graphics are great, the sound is good, it never gets repeditive, and there are a fair number of monsters that are form DS 1 and DS2. When I first started playing I found some people in the town that will give you codes to unlock special items in DS2 Broken World and you can find codes in DS2 Broken World to unlock stuff in ToA.

Cool. But too bad you can't take screenshots for us. Smile

What sort of stuff can you unlock in BW?

Okay, so what's the story on the Giants?

Well basicly you can play as a Giant (that's what I am) and as you go through the game you find lore telling of the history of Giants, so far all that I have found is that when the humans met the giants they thought that they are stupid and only ment for labor because they were strong, thay also have a tattoo carved in there left are that they do not like to talk about and is somehow self inflicted but not for religous porposes, but because of the classes there are some giants that use the mark as a way of unlocking unlimited power. Hope that's what you were asking about, and there might be a way I can take screen shots, I'll try to figure something out.

ok well I got screen shots and video of ToA but all together it is a 474 MB zipped file! So if anyone realy wants to see them email me at and just tell me you want to see the screen shots/video from ToA and I will send them to you most likely within 1 or 2 days depending on what's going on.

Is that referring to the Agallan giants or the giants that became the half-giants?

The giants that became the half-giants, the Agallan giants are the "true gods" of the Vagar, but I think the Agellan giants are all dead now.

They are not dead in DS2 but maybe they disappeared after the second endtime?

ToA is supposed to reveal something about the Aggallan Giants, according to their site.

Well let me go back and read the lore about them again and I'll see what I can find. Also if anyone has DS2BW, you can get some special weapons by getting some codes in ToA and giveing them to some NPC in BW so if anyone wants the codes just tell me

Well as far as I can tell the Aggallan Giants are dead but mabey I'll find mor information about them. Is Eva the girl on the front cover of DS2, because I got a ne follower named Princess Eva last night and thought I recignized the name somewhere.

Ok I just completed DSToA in normal mode and got some more info about the Agallan Giants. They are the "true gods" of the Vagar, but many of the vagar do not follow these gods any more. The giants have disapeared from known existance. As you go through the game you meet someone how tells you that the Agallan Giants are still alive and that he thinks he found a way to contact them. You find out that there are very few Agallan Giants left but you can contact the last remaining ones. You meet the leader Elandir and he tells you a story about his father and how he created the Throne of Agony to end a war that brought about the first or second cataclism. So you go and kill the person on the throne and you get to choose to assend the throne or destroy it. I started the game again in elite difficulty so if anyone needs more details just ask.

Very interesting, but who are the Vagar?

they are a race that is basicly trying to destroy everyone, I think that they are controlled by the throne of agone but I am not sure.

I see. I wonder if they have anything to do with the Cenbri.

Thanks for all the information. Smile

Someone outta write out the entire story for ToA so we can all understand how it works.

Is it in any way connected to previous games? (i.e. LoA is loosely connected to Ehb; the game mentioned that the Shadow Jumper was freed somehow as a result of Gom's death)

I'll try to collect and copy all of the lore and take all the conversations that have an effect on the story and record it into a book type thing and give it to everyone here, hows that sound or should I do something different?

That sounds like a lot of work but if you are willing to do it I think it would be very appreciated.

That would be wonderful, if it was not too much trouble. I don't have the gaming platform that ToA comes on, but I have been following the story because it sounds intriguing.

For you baby anything, lol, I have just started today because 1: I had a lot of homework to do and that comes before games or I get grounded (it already happend once because I played for 5 and a half hours strait instead of doing homework) and 2: I restarted the game and just found the first piece of lore. I think if I realy work on it I can get it done by Christmas at the earliest, more likly new years day or early January.

Heh heh, well whenever you get the time. We don't want you to get grounded or anything...;)

Me neither, good news is that I got the begining and the first piece of lore recorded and found a second video that I think is important and need to record it sometime today. After I finish with the lore I might remake it into a guid for all the monsters, locations and maybey even suffixes/prefixes and weapons, armor, etc.
