Collision Models

Possible to make models in DS Loa collidable?? Like so that your character can't run through them.. checking through some .dsres files ive noticed some files under templates/actors/evil/pm_drake.gas it has a value called Aspect and within that it has a optino for collision.. dunno if its the same thing im thinking of.. but id like to hear from someone who knows about modding DS

if you want to control where the characters can go, the terrain is divided into walkable and non-walkable areas, so you just stop the walkable part short of the obstruction. Moveable nodes can add or remove paths that way.

Sorry If im hard to understand in first post but what i meant was collision for monsters. So monsters can't stack up inside each other.

And since you are active lol "i honestly didnt think i was ever going to get a response" I have bought dungeon siege LOA and Dungeon Siege 2 and I like the new models and texures in Dungeon Siege 2 but I hate the layout. its too confusing and I like Original Dungeon Siege gameplay more. IS it possible to import dungeon siege 2 models into dungeon siege 1?? I was able to view DS2 models using Gmax Model Viewer and the models show up and the animations play correctly, but just the textures dont show up because DS2 uses .dds texture format and dungeon siege 1 uses .raw texture format.

The later game engine has more capabilities including support for better graphics, so most folks are moving older content forward and improving it on the way.

However, there are converters for textures in most directions - if you wanted to edit the old "raw" format, you had to convert, edit and convert back - so that is possible. You won't be able to use the shaders from DS2 because the engine doesn't support them, nor normal maps.

The meshes are compatible, so there's no conversion needed.

Yeah unfortunately for me, it does seem that most are switching to DS2. I just prefer using DS1 because of the simplicity of it. I wanted to make a mod thats much like how DS2 is each character has each different strengths and weakness. I'm trying to combine all the existing character mods into 1 mod. (Rock Beast, Gobbot, Drake, Goblin, Snake Women, Elves, Dryad) and then create some new ones that icouldnt find (Krug, Droog, and some otherss) So it would be a much more fun game.. Then Expand the Multiplayer map to include every single known siegelet into 1 huge world.. if thats possible.. somehow seamlessly combine them. And then replace many graphics with DS2 Models and such..and include DS2 Monsters into DS1 with new worlds blah blah blah. Huge project. Probably will never get done but something I thought would be pretty sweet.. The Mod Dungeon Seige Revived is basically my starting ground... im going to build off that mod. I dont think the Author cares.. doesn't even seem active anymore.
