Widow

Since we have DS1 in DS2, time to bring in some armors. Smile

It is a very good idea PhoeniX but a real pain in the bottom, I have done quite a few conversions with the standard characters, putting in all the different skin colors and other things like ground armor. I am happy that I am using Cat Mansion characters so the change is easy a basic rename of the armor from DS1 type1 to DS2 type type6. Smile

Thumbs up from me, that looks cool.

I agree, that,s looks cool. We have a lot of resources to use now and I did use some of the weapons from DS1 & LOA in the mod but that was very easy to do.

Maybe we could also look at new sets now, if we could balance them somehow to drop at appropriate levels, I think it,s ridiculous how low level set pieces will drop at any level.

Again very nice work.

As most players would know this armor drops from Lord Hovart in the original Utraean Peninsula multiplayer map in DS1. In the DS2 version I have it as a quest item that appears only in your journal.

It would be nice to have these sorts of unique armors (and weapons, etc) appearing as rewards for the player in the DS2 MapPack but the problem is that there,s no way of knowing what level the player will be when they receive the reward so it,ll either be too high a level or too low.

You have a mod for DS2 that allows weapons to level up with the player but that may be overkill for these sorts of rewards. What would be nice is to have the reward scale to the current level of the player so they have some sort of tangible reward for these types of tasks/quests. I wonder if that could be done?

It would be nice to have the sets that use to exist in LOA and LOU available again as I know a lot of players use to enjoy searching and collecting them.

The level 99 unique armors and weapons that drop from my More Hair mod use a scalar.

Since you where doing Black Widow Armor for DS2 I thought it would be a good idea to create some Type6 Cat Mansion Girl Black Widow Armor.

Thanks for the link. It seems very similar in concept to your Volkan Weapon Pack Final which I,ve checked out before.

My concept is for the player to find a set piece that matches their current level. I don,t think having it scale with them would be appropriate otherwise the player would be wearing set pieces and nothing else for most of the game in all maps.

In LOA and LOU the player would find a powerful set piece and use it for perhaps 5-10 levels before it,s effectiveness would diminish to the point that it and the set would become obsolete. Then even a powerful normal weapon or armor would become better value. That way the player would always be searching for something better.

I think players also enjoyed the prospect that they could actually find the sets. In DS2 you can very rarely collect the entire set in time for it to be useful, except for Nature,s Vigilance which is hand placed. To hand placed an item it has to have the item_level declared in the gui block otherwise it defaults to 0 and any character can use it. Unfortunately it seems you can,t use embedded formulas for item_level in the gui block. Also set pieces are suppose to be unique items yet how many times does the pieces of the lower sets of DS2 appear in the course of a game?

Very nice. Smile

The way the armor \"fits\" on the characters is much more flattering than the old version.

Your version not only fits both sexes better, it doesn\'t squish the ladies, which was always a little pet peeve of mine in DS1.

Wow, impressive. Yes I know how much work is involved in converting and making new art, even for simple things like the bestiary icons used in the lorebooks of the maps.

And even balancing the sets isn\'t easy as I made some new ones back for DS1 in Cat Mansion Adepts, such as the Black Widow Set and Ice Set.

Good Luck
