Please note that the mod must be installed in the Dungeon Siege 2 resources folder even if you own Broken World. Unexpected glitches will occur if you don't.

The installer version also includes a number of min-mods and a simple mod manager to enable them, which isn't available if you download the mod as separate modules below.

This mod allows players the opportunity to play Kingdom of Ehb, Utraean Peninsula, Legends of Aranna and Yesterhaven from the original Dungeon Siege in Dungeon Siege 2 and it's expansion, with all the benefits that provides. Think of it as more of a remastered version of the original Dungeon Siege than a mere port to a newer engine.

The mod is based on Killergremal's original work on the Utraean Peninsula, Kingdom of Ehb and Yesterhaven, found at this thread; https://siegetheday.org/?q=node/1330

Elys All*Saves or Elys' Succubus Manager is recommended to play the mod, which most users of this site probably already use. However either use v1 of All*Saves or turn off the seefar option in the launcher as the mod incorporates seefar moods directly in the maps for better balance without the glitches and distortions caused by using a too high a level of seefar in the launcher. Version 1 of Elys All*Saves is distributed in the installer version in original DS2 (v2.2), Broken World (v2.3) and Steam versions.

Actually it's part 2 of the quest... look like I need to have the up-to-date files (33a) Big smile !

Here is the relevant part of my Resources with the Beta33 files, I do not think Iryan has had a chance to update the individual file links

indeed

Have you heard that Chris Taylor have left Wargaming Seattle to create a new independant studio ?

Maybe he will be more available and able to help you for te legendary mod (at least to answer some question you could ask him in order to improve the mod)...

Will I still be able to play the default DS2 map if I my party is above level 39?
I started the Kingdom of Ehb map first and I was wondering if I would get locked out of the original DS2 map.

No, you still start at Mercenary but the MLA doe not adjust the levels so things will be easy. There is a portal allowing you to jump to the higher levels in DS2 but you still have to play Broken World in order including completing the lower levels of DS2

It's a good question, luckily you are not the first one asking it, so there's actually a work-around.

Basically there are two matters:
- You can't access the BW map if you didn't defeat Valdis before.
- If your level is too high, you will encounter low-levelled monsters (as sigofmugmort1 pointed),
low exp and low-levelled loot (compared to your current level).

So I recommend talking to the ghost on the Tutorial Beach or in Eirulan (DS2 main map, you always can get there) in order to grant you access to the BW map.
You can then try to access the BW map. Should you be unlucky with your level or the level of monsters, then add the following row into the DungeonSiegeBrokenWorld.ini file:

	monster_adjust_world = ds2_world,ds2x_world

What about adding to weapons and spells the "average amount of damages dealt for 10 seconds" that was present in the LOA expansion, when I began to play DS2 I was somewhat shocked by the fact it had disapppeared !

While trying to install the beta33 i'm running into the problem that it does not recognize my DS1 installation
-it's the steam version of the games
-used Killah's updates to the games (also ran the reg file)
-ran your steamfix (non-standard path - had to use mklink to be able to run your steamfix)

it now tells me it's not able to find either DS1 or LOA

is there a possible fix for it or can i get the files as a zip perhaps (preferably with instructions ^^)?

At the present time iryan the creator of the legendary mod is off on summer vacation. Yes it is summer in Australia. He does check his mail here so, I recommend you register with the site and send him a PM referencing your post in the legendary mod thread. I am sure when he checks his mail he will reply to your question

Elf system admin

I'll try that.
Thanks Smile

[edit]

Ok now i got the installation to work(reinstalled everything from scratch, edited the registry entries for current - still nonstandard - path and added the mklink folders for the standard path).

Now i have the same issue the anonymous person below had: it crashes after the loading dots in the beginning get displayed when using the "Dungeon Siege 2 Steam AllSaves" link, normal link works but the older saves are not visible.

Here is the content of my ressources folder.

that steam folder looks like put ds2? and broken world ? in same resources? I am confused, cant wait to see how iryan solves this one.....

@Cend: If you like to try it out once, just install the normal/official Steam release (with no other fixes, updates, etc.). Then the Legendary Mod here.

Iryan respected the official Steam release as good as possible regarding on technical and legal aspects. So there is a high chance for a successful installation.
If you want go on then installing other downloads, it's on to you.

i did what you recommended and reinstalled the game from scratch and after applying the steam fix i installed the mod - now i get to the main menu Party but the mouse cursor is missing (i could skip the video with a mouse click though Puzzled )

EDIT

the vanilla DungeonSiege2.exe displays the cursor

What about updating the individual downloadable files of the mod with the most recent ?
On the other side, I think the post/topic would nead a little cleanup, in order to remove the obsolete files/informations...

It is summer in Australia so...iryan is spending time with his wife and boys. Once the weather turns toward winter I am sure he will update things.

Sure, in present time it is winter for me, much to my dismay...

I believe that he probably has Killah's Dungeon Siege 2 fix installed and choose to install it in the DS2 resources folder. That's one way of making Broken World work with the Steam version of DS2 as Steam doesn't create registry entries for DS2, which Broken World depends on in order to both install itself and run. You can manually create the necessary entries and install Broken World but then the Broken World resources folder would probably be located in the 2K Games folder.

I would suggest reinstalling Broken World to a separate folder as it is a known issue that having both DS2 and Broken World files in the same resources folder can cause problems.

Yes I absolutely agree and I will work towards that in the next few weeks. Manual installation of the files will generally avoid any issues encountered in installing the mod but we have to be careful about BIG BROTHER watching over our shoulders.

You are absolutely correct but I must confess that I've also become addicted to Stellaris - quite a brilliant 4X strategy game even if not quite complete yet (there's only the conquest victory type currently available and I've yet to achieve it even after a dozen games - I always lose interest once my empire is strong enough to squash everything else like bugs, even the Awakened Empires though now I'm playing the Leviathans expansion for greater challenge).

Actually, it is so complicated to have both DS2 and BW + the mod on the steam version that a friend of mine I have advised to test the mod have downloaded the "cd image (iso)" of the physical version and installed the games this way in order to shift all these problems !

I don't worry about "Big Brother", as downloading this version of the mod would mean you have all the original games and this way only the individual responsibility would be engaged (or at least it's the wa it would work in france), and that Squarre Enix don't care of the Dungeon Siege license (they only have rights on DS3)...
...besides, no one would like to become Big Brother, as having total access to total media surveyance would only destroy your faith in humanity !

And, Iryan, have you received the basic script I have wrote for the In The Name Of The King : A Dungeon Siege Tale easterr-egg/reference ?

Yes I agree with you so for the next release (no telling when it will be) there'll be both a manual and installer version.

Actually Square Enix have the rights to publish the entire Dungeon Siege series, apart from Broken World - which is why that expansion isn't available on Steam.

Yes I have the basic script you wrote, thank you very much for that. However it's uncertain whether I'll ever have the time to incorporate all of those references into the mod.

I have the 30 and 31 betas in my resources... and I noticed a 33 on down...my question is - does 33 have everything 30/31 had or were things removed? and can I replace 30/31 with 33 and the optional maps/voices/minimods above work with 33?

Squarre Enix don't have the right to publish Throne of Agny either ! Wish someone could do a DS2/BW mod that allow you to play it without having to buy a PSP !

For the script, I can only encourage you to see the entire movie in order to improve it ^^ !

The optional items should work fine, there are change log PDF's that show the current 33a changes and you would need the Mod_logic and Mod_content from 33a or you WILL get a few odd glitches Shocked

We will have to work on the french language pack, as there are many problems generated by it and lots of them strongly affect the gameplay when they simply don't stop the progression, my friend have tried it with the newest version of KOE and he cannot leave Stonebridge because of the guard at the exit, and adding the graphic elements and complete the sound elements !

Hello. I'm Fabio, from Brazil. Sorry, but I cannot sign in now. Lost my password.
I love all this. But the legendary just work when I use Broken World.
When I try to put in Dungeon Siege 2, just appear the Return to Arhok Map and a fatal error happens:

Please help me!
Sorry about the english and thanks a lot!

I see a difference with some of the file versions I have compared to yours so you need to update them.

Updates for the latest versions of these files.
DS1_Map_World_Beta33b

DS1_Mod_Logic_Beta33c
http://www.siegetheday.org/~iryan/files/Betav33/DS1_Mod_Logic_Beta33c.ds2res

Delete these 4 as they are older files and are not needed anymore.
Objects_DS1.ds2res
Sound_DS1.ds2res
Terrain_DS1.ds2res
Voices_DS1.ds2res

After updating those 3 and deleting the 4 that are older versions you'll have the same files that I have, mine works with DS2 and also with Broken World as well, lets hope that your game works too. Big smile

Objects_DS1.ds2res and Sound_DS1.ds2res are still required
