Hotfix for fades issue in Kingdom of Ehb v1.01

Please note that the mod must be installed in the Dungeon Siege 2 resources folder even if you own Broken World. Unexpected glitches will occur if you don't.

The installer version also includes a number of min-mods and a simple mod manager to enable them, which isn't available if you download the mod as separate modules below.

This mod allows players the opportunity to play Kingdom of Ehb, Utraean Peninsula, Legends of Aranna and Yesterhaven from the original Dungeon Siege in Dungeon Siege 2 and it's expansion, with all the benefits that provides. Think of it as more of a remastered version of the original Dungeon Siege than a mere port to a newer engine.

Elys All*Saves or Elys' Succubus Manager is recommended to play the mod, which most users of this site probably already use. However either use v1 of All*Saves or turn off the seefar option in the launcher as the mod incorporates seefar moods directly in the maps for better balance without the glitches and distortions caused by using a too high a level of seefar in the launcher. Version 1 of Elys All*Saves is distributed in the installer version in original DS2 (v2.2), Broken World (v2.3) and Steam versions.

Please put any comments, suggestions, reports, etc. about user made maps into that thread rather than here. All maps should be fully playable from start to finish but please expect bugs as they are still only alpha versions.

Until now, all things seem to work fine.
No more teleporter / character / chest not working, from the upperlands farm to Glitterdelve.
No "black curtain" effect when using teleporters.

The GOG version of the game works very well, even in Windows 10.

I didn't try to add the Alpha 03 Update again.

This evening one "black curtain" effect after releasing Merik, teleporting to Glacern and teleporting back to the caverns.
I'm unable to find how exactly it happens, nor to find how to making it disappear without reaching a town or saving and quiting.
But I'll try ! Laughing out loud

You're right, I tried to reproduce it but I didn't manage to. Sad

This evening, it's the forest camp teleporter which is not activable anymore, so I can't reach Stonebridge or Glacern anymore, except traveling back. Sad

For debugging it is often quite useful to know the position where something 'bad' happened.

So to remind a related feature: Open your hero's inventory, keep Ctrl+Alt keys pressed, then left-click on a health potion.
Soon after the potion touched the ground, the label will change into a data string with the current position.

On a screenshot for example, this really can help to quickly get an impression about the situation.

I will use this function to locate some issues.
I found the Glitterdelve Hammer yesterday as attached.
When in my inventory, I can't select it : game freezes. I can only sell it with the "sell all items" icon.
I found a cloak armor later which had the same issue but as my game freezed before I made a savegame, I don't remember its name and I don't have a screenshot.
I also found the Bloodsaoked Ring which is not correctly displayed in the inventory.
I had the same issue with a bow called Mind Eater this morning.

As attached, two locations where glowing chests can't be opened.

The first one, in the cavern to the left of the entrance of the Droog village. [ SOLVED : Chest needs Broken World to be installed ]

The second one, in a subterranean after the exit of Glacern. [ SOLVED : Due to a combinaison of serveral mods. Screenshot deleted ]

The third and the fourth ones are located in the crystal caves, in the lair of the Trogs. [ SOLVED : Due to the combination of three mods. Screenshots deleted ]

The two others inactive glowing chests are located in the outskirts of the castle of Ehb.

I already reached the castle of Ehb but I traveled back to find all locations I remembered. I think I forgot one.
I also have to go back to flooded caves to do a screenshot.
Since now, I'll think to do it, especially for the Legends of Aranna segment.

I don't know if this is normal, but at the exit of Stonebrige, the guard seems always waiting for me opening the way between the town and the mines, even if this quest is completed.

PS. When I created my account on the forum, I wasn't able to remember or retrieve my previous one. I didn't find my old issues reports.
I was searching them in this topic instead of another one, and with different terms. I finaly find them some days after : I'm SlamSte@m.

I realize that two years have passed since... and I would like to apologize, at the time I totally forgot that I had proposed to find the location of the places with issues in the segment of the kingdom of Ehb and Aranna and report them here.
I take the opportunity of a new party to do it, today.

For the flooded dungeon, it will be much complicated as the gipsy camp teleporter doesn't work for my current party, to leave the area.
I'll have to travel again through the goblin's lair to reach the Bonepicker Post basement, enter the flooded dungeon, teleport back to the gipsy camp with a spell, travel back to Glacern. Or travel from flooded caves to Fort Kroth after...

Finaly, I did it, this is the screenshot for the flooded dungeon issue. [ SOLVED : Chest needs Broken World being installed to open ]

I found a chest which is indestructible in the castle of Ehb, before the prison cells. [ SOLVED : Due to the combination of several mods. Screenshot deleted ]

I found another rare object, the Ravager armor.
Like the Glitterdelve hammer, when I try to pick it in my inventory, game freezes. [ SOLVED : Due to Revamped sets mod based on Super shops. Screenshot deleted ]

In the prison of the castle of Ehb, at the right at the king's cell, there is another cell with a switch.
I don't know if this is intended in the mod, but it doesn't activate the elevator leading to the hidden room.

I do believe you missed talking to someone between the armor vendor and the church.

I have noted in playing almost every map not just with the Legendary Mod but just the regular maps supplied with the game, That some weapons and spells will not open some trunks. I normally play my primary character as ranged. So when a trunk can not be opened with an arrow, I will try a sword and then a combat magic spell. Some combat magic spells like Fire Dagger and Scythe have problems with trunks. Some nature spells will also open trunks. So try all your weapons before giving up.

The problem with the glittering chests is that they are not destructible, I can just open them.
In fact they are glittering, until I click to open them.
Then the gliterring ceases, any character I choose has a little movement when I click, but nothing happens.

Some of the glittering chests require you to have an object in your possession such as one of the books that are present in the hallways, rooms and various places where such trunks are located. There are also glittering chests and trunks that require a character of a certain skill and level to open, however these are located behind doors that require the same character with the same skill and level to open.

Maybe the container's point-of-being-attacked is defined somewhere inaccessible, e.g. too close to the wall. If so an area-of-effect attack next to it should do the trick.

I'll try it, until now this is the only point-of-being-attacked container I can't destruct.

Concerning chests in rooms requiring a certain skill level, I was able to open all of them until now. Smile The problem concerns glittering chests of secret or isolated areas. Sad For the one in the underground after the exit of Glacern, I didn't find anything, there are just a few rooms and the chest is located in the center of all of them. As I remembered, when I played Dungeon Siege, I was able to open all chests.

Cleaving my way to Stonebridge. It has been quite some time since I played the legendary mod version of Kingdom of Ehb. I really do not have the time right now to play, however DungeonSiegeCookie has discovered some interesting issues. I am currently at the first Direct Connect Teleporter. DSC did you fix the bridge, fight the mimic and talk to the patrol from Stonebridge? If not look for a switch by the waterfall.

I'll try. I'm at the gipsy camp and as the direct teleporter doesn't work, I have to travel back to Glacern before reaching Stonebridge with an other direct teleporter which is working. Smile

So I have started a new party with absolutely no mod, used the +drlife cheat code to travel as fast as I could to Glacern, reached the subterranean and guess what... the gliterring chest opened.
It seems that one or the two mods I use are responsible (6 Slots and Uberstash).

I would suggest turning off the uberstash mod. I use 6 slots and never had a problem with the glittering chests.

The first party I started this month, I wasn't able to speak with the enchantress of Stonebridge.
It was the first time I encountered this problem.
I started a second one and everything worked well.
I have another mod active, revamped sets. I'll try to see which mod, except 6 Slots, can interfere and I'll report it here.
About Alanna, in fact I have the same problem. I remember this sidequest and was suprised not to see her asking me to accomplish it, but I forgot it leaving the town.

I hoped it was not a combination of mods which interfere and it seems it's the case...
I started a new party, without any mod. Glacern glittering chest opened.
I started a second new party, with uberstash mod. Glacern glittering chest opened too...
I started a third new party, with Revamped sets mod. Glacern glittering chest opened again...

This night I'm gonna dream of upperlands farm, crypts of Sacred Blood, Wesrin Cross, Glitterdelve mines... Laughing out loud

In fact with all three mods, chest opens.
But if I recruit one or more member, chest doesn't open anymore.
