This mod allows players the opportunity to play Kingdom of Ehb, Utraean Peninsula, Legends of Aranna and Yesterhaven from the original Dungeon Siege in Dungeon Siege 2 and it's expansion, with all the benefits that provides. Think of it as more of a remastered version of the original Dungeon Siege than a mere port to a newer engine.

The mod is based on Killergremal's original work on the Utraean Peninsula, Kingdom of Ehb and Yesterhaven, found at this thread; https://siegetheday.org/?q=node/1330

Elys All*Saves or Elys' Succubus Manager is recommended to play the mod, which most users of this site probably already use. However either use v1 of All*Saves or turn off the seefar option in the launcher as the mod incorporates seefar moods directly in the maps for better balance without the glitches and distortions caused by using a too high a level of seefar in the launcher. Version 1 of Elys All*Saves is distributed in the installer version in original DS2 (v2.2), Broken World (v2.3) and Steam versions.

The teleporter works after save at least for me. Smile Friend

Could you try my save game, if you agree, and tell me if the teleporter works with your version of the game ?
I'm using the 2.30 GOG version, with the 1.01 hotfix resource and no mods.
I'm going to switch to my Windows 7 system, install the retail version and load my save game to check if it's the same problem.

I downloaded the zip of your saved game. unzipped it and placed it in the correct location. Started the game and could find only my characters. Leana appeared no where. Therefore I have to assume there is some difference between the retail and GOG versions of the game.
Elf

I moved the Leana saved game to broken world and I was able to find your character. I bet it has something to do with revision numbers. No to see if I can play Leana
Elf

Yes, usualy I play Legendary mod only with Dungeon Siege II retail version 2.20 or Dungeon Siege II GOG version 2.30.
Both don't include Broken World expansion which manages skills in a silghtly different way, granting less levels for the same experience.
That's why I never install it, but maybe I should have ?

The direct connect teleports are working with your party. You are now in the Pirate Cove. I must start up my party again and catch up to you! Oh I did change one small thing. I changed the monster level adjustment from all to local. (the button on the yellow trunk)

Windows 7 and Windows 10 are both installed on my PC, so I launched Windows 7, installed Dungeon Siege II and Broken World, then converted my savegame.
My party appears at the gipsy camp but I can't click on the direct teleporter near the party's chest. Sad

By the way, is it worthy to play Legendary mod with Broken World expansion, are there really benefits ?

Well Yes there are some maps that need broken world to work correctly. Also I like some of the options you can add to armor. Some of the spells are better too.

That is totally weird. Have you installed Ely's All-saves that might help. I think the problem you are having is the checksum of your save is messing things up. Install Broken World and try from there also as it could be a conflict with version numbers between GOG and retail versions. I expect the latter is the issue.

In fact I used Ely's All-saved to restore my savegame with Dungeon Siege II (2.20) + Broken World (2.30), both retail with Windows 7.
It worked but the gipsy camp teleporter still doesn't work. Sad
So I kept on playing with the GOG version (2.30) of Dungeon Siege II. I reached Fort Kroth and now it's the second teleporter which doesn't work after having saved and quit. Sad

I tried to install the steam version in US language : same problem.
I tried to add the Killah fix for Broken World : same problem.
Retail or steam version, with or without Broken World expansion. Sad

I found something interesting : I used a backup at the pirates cove location, went to Fort Kroth with the +drlife cheat code.
I made a backup before killing Gresh and I noticed that.
If I use the teleporter as soon as I arrive, I can save, quit and load my save game, teleporter works well.
If I don't use the teleporter before saving, it won't work any more.
Confirmed.

I will have to try that with your party. As it works either way with my parties. Just a thought is the GOG version and the retail version in the same main directory?
Elf

As attached a first savegame called "Before Gresh", you start at the gipsy camp and have a direct teleporter to approach Fort Kroth and fight Gresh. It will be easier for you. Smile This is the savegame I made with the +drlife cheat.

The second one called "My save" is my last savegame, it would be interesting to see if you use the teleporter from Fort Kroth and the gipsy camp, then save, and send me this new savegame, if they would work again for me ?

PS. I used the Steam version and the Killah fix, so they are Broken World 2.30 savegames. Smile You were right, it brings new spells, new items and new skills. Smile

The GOG, retail and steam versions where all installed in a different location.
The retail version + Broken World on a specific location with Windows 7.
The GOG version and the Steam versions on a specific location too with Windows 10, having uninstalled the previous one before, to avoid any conflict.

It is getting late or should I say it is very early Saturday Morning. I am sleepy so I will test the saves as you suggested, and let you know what I find some time Saturday afternoon

Many thanks, sleep well and may Azunai protect you. Smile

I'm going back to Dungeon Siege II only, not with the Broken World expansion.
In fact I tried a few minuts of gameplay and the problem is items are often designed for multiclass characters and not suitable for my members (they are but not enough for these items).

I reached the Droog village.
Until now, the gipsy camp teleporter and the Fort Kroth teleporter don't work.
Doing some tests with a backup before Fort Kroth as I said, it seems it happens if you save before using them.
But... I don't know what to think... the teleporter of the Droog village was already not clickable when I reached it. Sad
I noticed two glittering chests that I wasn't able to open : in the cavern just before the Droog village and in the secret area of the flooded dungeon.
In the beginning of the hall of skulls, I found a glittering coffin which opened randomly, I tried many times to check it.
I keep on playing and testing. Laughing out loud

I have not had time to play the game yet, some real life issues are getting in the way. However I decided to check out your last save first Smile did you leave some of the secondary quests for act two unfinished? It does not really matter since they do not have anything to do with the chest and teleport issues. Just wondering.
Elf

Yes I forgot one secondary quest at bonepick post : I had to travel back to achieve it ! Laughing out loud
I'm in the castle of Ehb, near the prison.
My mages carry enough bottles of mana and have their maximum of mana increased, one specialised in lightning power, the other in ice power. My fighters have their skills reparted to have brutal attack and whirling strike.
And I can almost pass through enemies like if I was doing a speedrun.
Sometimes they are in trouble, sometimes some of them die, but I can progress much faster than my previous party.
In fact as I have already finished the Kingdom of Ehb map just before I have restarted it, I must confess I want to finish it more quickly, even if I do tests at the same time.

I am at the Castle Ehb Moat. Every thing has worked correctly up to this point with your party DCS.
Elf

I'm at the end of the prison, at the checkpoint leading to the lava area.
I'm not passing through monsters as fast as I did before ! Laughing out loud
Conclusion
Three teleporters not working : gipsy camp, Fort Kroth and the Droog village. Sad
Several glittering chests haven't open : the one in the flooded dungeon, the two in the outskirts of Ehb, and a glittering coffin at the beginning of the hall of skulls.
I'm wondering if it's related to the level of my characters. I trained them to gain more levelq, maybe the game doesn't deliver the content of certain chests if we own already certain items or if we have a level superior to what it expects.
The most annoying was the teleporters, reaching all towns is useful to buy different stuff. When you're stuck in the last town you have visited, choices are more limited. But it was like that in the original game.

I have started this map... wow... pretty intense... my hand hurts me...
Is it as intense all long ?
As Naidi said "No time to waste !" but I can't even breath ! Path to the old crypts was so intense, I fear for what's gonna happen after ! Laughing out loud
Areas are so huge, sometimes I must admit it's a little bit confusing, there are so many paths offered. Laughing out loud
And as always, some areas are so appealing. That's what I found in Dungeon Siege series I didn't find anywhere : some areas are beautiful, even for modern standards, but also so attracting. Hidden or not it's like these are calling us, waiting to be visited or discovered.
These games are simply magic.

I was wondering : is the number of enemies related to my 42 level ? Or is it related to to this map being initialy a multiplayer map ?
Does the difficulty mods included in the Legendary mod could help me ?
I must admit I won't be able to play all long with so many enemies, my hand and my arm won't stand it... and I won't enjoy the travel. Laughing out loud
This year I wanted to play it before playing the Legend of Aranna map, I didn't expect that.

Hi Killergremal. Smile

I did some additional tests with the +drlife cheat from the beginning of the Kingdom of Ehb map.

1. I start a new party. I click on the upperlands farm teleporter. I save, quit and continue : the teleporter works well.

2. I start a new party. I don't click on the teleporter. I save, quit and continue : the teleporter is not clickable.

3. I start a new party. I don't click on the teleporter. I reach Stonebridge, I click on the teleporter. I save, quit and continue : the teleporter works well.
I use it to reach the upper farm lands : the teleporter is not clickable.

4. I start a new party. I click on the teleporter. I click on the direct teleporter before Stonebridge. I save, quit and continue. I reach Stonebridge : the teleporter is not clickable.

It seems I have to click on a town teleporter before saving, if not, it won't work anymore.
And it seems I have to travel without saving and quiting between two towns to be able to click on teleporter to make it clickable.

bare_elf wrote:

I am playing with your party.

I have found the King under castle Ehb. In a room to the right of his cell there is a button that does not work the elevator to the secret chamber. I have been able to mark the location using a health potion however when I take a screen shot it does not show up. I think I have forgotten how to take a screen shot with windows 7 that shows that data.

This is the location data. CD_R1.3.160/-2.000/-0.145/0x6be08cc3

I am not sure if I have ever been in the room before, so can not verify if the button ever worked.

I will have to visit this location with my own party.

Elf

This is an elevator like the one in Edgaar's basement - step on the grating to go down. Surprise! The button is for anybody left behind at the top to bring it back up. (I've just confirmed this in the DS1 original.)

EDIT: Surely somebody - myself, for example - must have beta tested going down to the secret cave. But maybe we only tested coming back up by working the lever at the bottom, not the button at the top.

It was working, at least during a few earlier maps. Of course I have not actually played the current "finished" version. maybe something broke

If you don't mind, I will centralize all my reports in one place here, it will be more easier to retrieve them.

Teleporters not clickable
-------------------------
1. I start a new party. I click on the "Farmhouse teleporter". I save, quit and continue : the "Farmhouse teleporter" works well.
https://siegetheday.org/files/Farmhouseteleporter.png

2. I start a new party. I don't click on the "Farmhouse teleporter". I save, quit and continue : the "Farmhouse teleporter" is no longer clickable.

3. I start a new party. I don't click on the "Farmhouse teleporter". I reach Stonebridge, I click on the Stonebridge "Teleporter". I save, quit and continue : the Stonebridge "Teleporter" works well.
https://siegetheday.org/files/Stonebridgeteleporter.png
I use it to reach the upper farm lands : the "Farmhouse teleporter" is no longer clickable.

4. I start a new party. I click on the "Farmhouse teleporter". I travel through the crypts, and I click on the "Path to Stonebridge" teleporter before Stonebridge. I save, quit and continue. I reach Stonebridge : the Stonebridge "Teleporter" is not clickable.
https://siegetheday.org/files/PathtoStonebridge.png

It seems I have to click on a town teleporter before saving, if not, it won't work anymore.
And it seems I have to travel without saving and quiting between two towns to be able to click on a town teleporter in order to make it clickable in the future.

Glittering chests not opening
-----------------------------
SOLVED : Affects Dungeon Siege II vanilla, works with Broken World expansion.

Elevator not working
--------------------
In the prison of the castle of Ehb, at the right at the king's cell, there is another cell with a switch.
https://siegetheday.org/files/DS2_0009.png
May work if you go further, save, quit, continue and come back later.

Secret area of Alpine Caverns
-----------------------------
In the first two screenshots attached, this is the leading path to the first secret area (highlited in red in the second one).
Don't go there, go to the second one far away.
And then go to the third one with the statue and the big chest.
Usually you can't reach the last statue without having activated the two parts bridge in the two first secret areas.
I had problem of loading textures, but I managed to reach the last statue having missed the first secret area.

SOLVED : In fact even if Dungeon Siege II works with the french translation resource, Broken World expansion is needed, if not the game can freeze when clicking on the amulets/rings tab with merchants.
