Man, I wished I liked sports. Particularly football or, er, "American Football" as my ex husband used to say. Since apparently soccer is football (footy!) to the rest of the world. Heh. This blog is going no where because I am doing the text equivalent of babbling. Just checking in to see what's new around here. So, holla, or whatever you crazy kids are saying these days. blogs: |

I actually barrack for the Bombers. Australian Rules Football is a combination of a number of other football codes. It uses elements from each to make up something unique.
It can actually be confusing talking about "Football" over here as we play so many types. It could be very confusing to visitors. For instance there's Australian Rules Football, Soccer, Rugby League and Rugby Union.

Eek. I guess here is where I continue to expose my lack of knowledge regarding sports. My ex-husband is from Ireland, so my frame of reference is simply his soccer=football view, probably because he would laugh when I referred to "American" football as football. "That's not REAL football, silly american woman!" Hehe

Nope, not unhappy. Apparently whatever stadium the Superbowl (stupid bowl) was held at suffered a blackout and, of course, hijinks and shenanigans ensued. So. I missed all that crap and nonsense, yay.
Go Cats Go sounds like an awesome name. After googling it I was a little surprised to find The football team was the second result of my search. Apparently, there is also a cat behavioral clinic in San Francisco by the same name, as well as a company that sells "catnip flippers" (whatever the hell those are).
It's funny that as Ireland has its own version of football as well called Gaelic football. Its has similarities with Australian Rules Football which is why Ireland and Australia play regular Test matches with a hybrid version of both sports called International Rules Football, which is the only way the players of those sports can ever play internationally against other countries.
Soccer has the distinction of being the most widespread form of football played in the world, though the other versions tend to be more popular in their respective countries.
