LMP - Aranna - Standard.

Both EHB and Yesterhaven look good when played with both Standard Characters and Adepts Characters. So I will now make a run through using standard Characters of the Legends of Aranna. I know that things upto the Lost Queen work, but since there where updates to some of the files to fix the lost queen I think I will verify the map one last time.

Just arrived at the Coastal Bluffs with a standard party of four. All Quests, characters, creatures and monsters appear to be working correctly. I will move on again tomorrow.

Hi Sigomugmort,
I just completed The Family Bow Quest Last night, and I am currently having lunch in the wizard city of Illicor. I verified in my journal that the big red check mark showed on all the completed quests and it does. Sorry to say I can not duplicate your error. You may wish to verify you have all the current files as some where updated a late as yesterday.

Did you talk to the appropriate quest givers before starting the quests? Many of the quests can be completed without ever officially starting them due to limited internal checking within the scripts (My knowledge at the time was limited with flick). Those could be such cases.

Found the problem, when I talked to the quest givers I closed the dialog by clicking the x in the upper corner instead of on the actual dialog Sad

I know that we created custom skins for the Utraeans in Adepts such that their bodies would appear the correct color and have tattoos, but I can not remember if we did the same for the standard farm boy and farm girl for the legendary pack. I have noted that although the Utraeans have the correct heads the bodies in the templates reference human and elf male and female skins. So they might have a gray tattooed head and a green, yellow, brown etc body. This is not really an issue it just looks weird in some armor that shows either arms or legs without armor covering.

I believe the Utraean templates probably need tweaking in some way, I'll have to check. Certainly the playable and recruitable ones should be fine as they use custom skin _81. I'll add it to my list. Thanks.

Could anyone who sees a problem with the Utraean Skins please post them. I can't find a problem, at least with the npcs, apart from probably a couple of the female hairs which I plan to fix.

Here's some examples of Utraean Skins from Illicor. They appear correct to me.

Some of the armor in the game has not been fixed to support the utraean colors _81. so the game engine either shows the armor as black and yellow or picks a random skin color based on the character's base skin color. I will look into this when I have a bit of time.

I have arrived at Jherkal's Crown and other than some of the armor in the game not correctly displaying on the Utraeans all is going quite well. I have not encountered any problems with saving the game and coming back to the correct location.
All Quest, characters and conversations are working. I will download the updated files and continue the game either later today or tomorrow.

Here's a patch that hopefully will fix the problem
http://www.siegetheday.org/~iryan/files/DS1_Armor_Fix_Feb_2014.ds2res

It hasn't been extensively tested but appears to work. I've also adjusted the starting textures so that the recruitable Utraeans have the correct hand and feet skin tones.

Not sure if it will work on a saved game or you would have to recruit them again for the skin tones to work but the armor fix should work automatically on any saved or worn armor.

Thanks for the armor fix Iryan. Works for all the recruit-able Utraeans except for Mheagan as her zero texture is Utraean and her one texture is human. Think she is a bit undecided as to which race she is. Think she works well as a Utrean because her name does start with the Mh which is very common in Utraean names. The shadow jumper is no longer jumping and the clock is working again. Did not encounter any additional problems with the map. So I am going to take the teleporter in the clock room back to Arhok and decide where to go next.

That's great to hear that it works so I'll add it to the main resources.

Mheagan should work fine in a new game as I tweaked her starting armor skin to Utraean and also tested her in-game myself (I could only access her and Nardulo). Yes originally she was a human but I wanted another female Utraean in the game and she seemed the most logical choice.
