Do you think it is funny?

I have always thought it was funny that monsters like spiders, wolves, and such drop loot. None of the animals except for Dragons have pockets so how would they carry loot? Wolves could carry loot in their mouth, however when they attempted to bite you they would drop the loot prior to dieing. Poor confused game designers. Smile

Kkk truth, but what if the monster ate everybody whole, that would explain the loot being on their stomachs xD

True chaoruge that would explain how the monsters got the loot. In DS1 when there where backpacks the monsters could have a taste for backpacks and that would also explain loot in their stomachs. Insane

I agree but practically all rpgs are set up like that.

It would be a great mod to make to create a version of DS2 that was logical in that way. Monsters would only provide experience or items that could be used for enchanting or creating gear, for example you could get wolf fur from wolves but not krug dogs. The only gear that would drop would be from humanoids that uses weapons or bandits/pirates, etc.

It would make the stores in the towns more relevant as well as increasing the value of enchanting or creating items from other objects. You could also have a lot more hunting style quests or missions in order to earn special gear and rewards that way.

I don't think dragons carry loot rather they hoard it in their caves for greedy explorers to come around and kill them for it.

There is this possible explanation with monsters eating equipment along with humans, but...think about how you feel (I hope this is relatable to) after more complex meal (like Christmas dinner or something). How would monsters feel with swords and heavy armors in their bellies? :rip:
That is why I always feel sorry for feeding my pets with items, heh :nervous:

Titan Quest is pretty similar to this idea; a logical drop system.

I keep wondering why I'm digging Amethysts and gold out of a wolf's stomach..

Come to think of it- maybe critters eating equipment is just how nature works in Dungeon Siege. 'Tis how you feed your pets..
