not sure - but I do know you get an awful lot of rocks..
learning the meditation skill helps maintain your mana..

Tons and tons of rocks in SP for sure (if I had to guess it would be about 50-1).

I understand that one of the "secret" MP characters has a significantly better chance of getting runes (for an obvious reason... when you learn what it eats Wink ).

Actually two of them do. One of the others will get multiple runes at a time, raising its average.

The snowball that appears in the cold squares in place of a rune won't repeat once you have one, so that doesn't affect your chances (unless you throw it away).
