By ChickenGeorge

4 potions
Increase one stat upon drinking
Also another Mana potion better priced

To get these potions visit Madame Pendra in YEW and purchase them.

This mod will not interfere with any other mod
And you can use it along side my CG_ManaPotion2.dsres mod
Which is version 2 of my original Mana Potion

Update:
Madame Pendra has perfected her Mana Potion
and it now fully replenishes Magic Points.
So she also raised the price.
Be sure to download the new version.

Note about my other Mana Potion Mod:
I am removing version one from my site

That looks like a good mod you've created there, it's a shame that you protected the tank so we can't look at the files to see how you made it, any way my question is would something like that work in DS1.

I recall a DS1/LoA mod called Reign of Chaos by Psychogun that had attribute-boost potions.

A small mod from Kuno:

"This is a little mod that I cooked up after reading a post on a forum. I believe I squashed all the bugs in it. But if you find any more let me know. Below is a list of the new potions that I have created. 900 seconds is 15 minutes. These can all be bought in Elddim from the mage in the church. Mind you that there not cheap. Alteast for a new player starting out in Mutliplayer.

Strength Potion - Raises Str by 10 for 900 seconds
Dexterity Potion - Raises Dex by 10 for 900 seconds
Intelligence Potion - Raises Int by 10 for 900 Seconds
Melee Potion - Raises Melee by 10 for 900 seconds
Ranged Potion - Raises Ranged by 10 for 900 seconds
Nature Magic Potion - Raises N_Magic by 10 for 900 seconds
Combat Magic Potion - Raises C_Magic by 10 for 900 seconds
Stats Potion - Raises Str, Dex and Int by 15 for 900 seconds
Weapon Potion - Raises Melee and Ranged by 15 for 900 seconds
Magic Potion - Raises Nature and Combat Magic by 15 for 900 seconds
Uber Potion - Raise Everything by 25 for 900

Kuno"

Information from me:

Bug : 1 (with DSLOAMod.exe) - See note!
See picture
900 secondes = 15 minutes
7,500 golds : Strength - Dexterity - Stats - Ranged - Melee - Intelligence - Nature Magic - Combat Magic Potions
15,000 golds : Magic - Weapon Potions
30,000 golds : Uber

Note: this mod work only with DSLOAMod.exe (?!?!). And I don't know why snif

I've downloaded it and had a look at it as well Ulyss, but then I got to thinking, what do I actually do with one of these things if I ever got one, so my new question is.........

How would I go about drinking one of these new potions you've cooked up, or do I have to do something else with it, like shove it somewhere that could be very painful, or probably not so painful if you're into that kind of thing?, I'm looking forward to an answer as I haven't got one. Big smile

I remember that as well, Klandank and I also seem to remember that they had a permanent effect on the character's base stats, as ChickenGeorge's mod appears do. I need to look around for Psychogun's mods, I know I have them stored somewhere.

So ChickenGeorge, are you planning to make a port of your potion mod for regular DS? I'm just curious, and you do have some cool and creative ideas.

I remember that as well, I also seem to remember that they had a permanent effect on the character's base stats. Now which computer has those mods on it and did I ever use them in one of my mods?
I just wish wet weather did not make my memory go all wonky.

Some maps have these "attribute boost potions" like Reigh of Chaos by Psychogun (2005):

1) Strength Potion (blue) 150,000 gold = increase strength +1
2) Dexterity Potion (yellow) 150,000 gold = increase dexterity +1
3) Intelligence Potion (green) 150,000 gold = increase intelligence +1
- sell by Alchemist Pirotess

Single player map only!

Here the map: Reign of Chaos (Reign of Chaos.zip - 4,93 Mo)

File attachments does not work!

Hey guys:

I've moved the discussion we were having about Attribute Potions to the DS1/LoA modding forums.

You can find it --> Here. <--

This is ChickenGeorge's page for his mod and is actually located in the Mod download area for U5 Lazarus. Since the discussion we were having here had evolved into talking about other mods then it should be in its own area. Smile

Please remember to post any more comments or questions at the above link

Thank you all for the interest in my mod.
I wouldn't know how to make this work in Dungeon Siege.
Lazarus is a complete rebuild of the Dungeon Siege engine.
Also I never play DS, or have never made a mod for it.
For instance I've never tested a mod in DS, but only in Lazarus.

This potion code is just a hacky rewrite of existing Lazarus 'status effect' skrit.
Stats in Lazarus are not the same as they are in are in DS.
Even though they are the same name they are not the same variables.
It may be because magic and leveling in Ultima V Lazarus is different.
Spells are not the same as they are in DS and have to be unlocked.
And Lazarus has an Avatar/Virtue system that is tied to attributes.
For this reason I could not barrow any standard or native code from DS component files.
Instead hacking Laz code to make this work.

The reason for protecting my tanks is a silly one, if not embarrassing one.
Years ago a 'friend' and I had a website for the first Diablo clone that was in 3D.
We made mods for this game and corroborated on everything.
When Dungeon Siege came out we began to branch out.
But my interest was exclusively Lazarus.
Then we had a fallout. Started a nerd war. Yeah, we were dorks.
But I still uploaded mods to the same website we shared.
And two of them had a strange problem.
One mod was in one town, the other mod was in another town.
Each town had a side mission that could no longer be completed if you installed those two mods.
In the code I went to the section of the contents for the game's side mission
and found something funny.
The contents had been deleted.
Not the code for the container, just it's contents!
If the code for the crate had been removed DS would have thrown an error.
This code was no where near where my code was in the file.
So I fixed it. But then it happened again.
The other mod that also happened to be in a town with a side mission had the same exact error.
In the code for the contents of a crate was deleted.
Not the code for the crate, just it's contents.
And this code was again no where near the code for my crate.
Sneaky. Twice?!! Well now I knew something was wrong.
I went back to the original pre-tanked folder/files and sure enough the code was correct.
In this case somebody had edited the file and re-uploaded it in it's place.
Not to be outdone, I had our site closed when he went out of town.
Stupid dork wars. Since then I protect the tanks but wish I didn't have to.

I also am willing to help somebody in any way I know how.
Which, by the way, isn't much.
And mostly Project Britannia workarounds.

I would give some GMax tutorials.
Only the guide I use is the SiegeUniversity
and it is more then capable of providing the needed information.

Diablo clone with Dungeon Siege Engine?

To ChickenGeorge: If yes do you have Diablo Fonts for DSLOA?
If yes (again) can you share the file with us. Because I lost this file snif

I understand the reason why you lock your mods after reading your last post ChickenGeorge, thanks for the explanation and have a good day. Big smile

No I don't, Sorry. I was talking about Darkstone.

That game is what gave me the idea for the stat potions. And they were reeeeeeal pricey. Something like 10,000 gold.

There is a lot of similarity between Darkstone (1999) and Dungeon Siege (2002) (same "finding" between Darkstone and Ultima V Lazarus) ...

What you say about tank protection makes sense. I honestly don't think something like that would ever occur here, but you should do whatever makes you comfortable. I always try to respect an author's wishes regarding tank protection and use of mod assets. Sometimes it is hard to restrain my curiosity though!

I figured out how to restore Mana fully now.
Sword fighting PB's code isn't easy.
If you like this mod then you should download the updated version.

I hope to be able to replace the one I upload to Siegetheday.
Ok all links are updated Smile
Thank you.
