I skinned a farmgirl

I really do dislike that term "skinning farmgirl". It makes me feel like the serial killer Buffalo Bill from the movie Silence of the Lambs. But, I guess that is what you modders call making a new face. I prefer the term "makeover" myself. ^^ Anyway, regarding my skinning thing. I took a picture of Angelina Jolie and resized it and all that to make this face. The DS farmgirl doesn't really look much like Jolie at all, but I think for a rank amateur...I did ok on my first ever skin.

You can't get her to look more like Angelina without modifying the mesh, (cheekbones, lips etc...) But that looks enough like her to pass. Good job re-fitting the textures though. If you don't resize just right, the face looks distorted. All-in-all a good job for your first re-skin of farmgirl. :thumbup:

Jay Manuelf from Dungeon Siege's Next Top Model does an interview regarding Angelina Jolie taking on the role as FarmGirl...
Jay Manuelf: "Angelina never looked better!... she looks great Kathy... especially the eyes, they make farmgirl look like she has eye liner and eye shadow.... i wonder if Angelina photo could be used for real on farmgirl after all its just a picture. i know one could use her picture as an image portrait for the mercs (hirelings) if they wanted."
Jay then stops talking and proceeds to take photographs of FarmGirlJolie..... flash bulbs every where.....
The only thing I really did was take the eye on the left from Jolie's pic and plunked it in. I copied a cross section of face from one of the regular DS faces so I would know how big to make Angelina's face cross section. The DS face area I looked at was something like 38 x81 so it was easy to resize Angelina's accordingly.
That probably doesn't make sense but in Kathy terms it worked out. I found I really only needed to paste in the eye, because changing eyes makes a person look very different, even if the rest of the features are the same. I didn't paste in the mouth, just made the existing one a little fuller. It was fun! I worked as a makeup artist for about 18 months, so it brought back fond memories of that. ^^
