This mod allows players the opportunity to play Kingdom of Ehb, Utraean Peninsula, Legends of Aranna and Yesterhaven from the original Dungeon Siege in Dungeon Siege 2 and it's expansion, with all the benefits that provides. Think of it as more of a remastered version of the original Dungeon Siege than a mere port to a newer engine.

The mod is based on Killergremal's original work on the Utraean Peninsula, Kingdom of Ehb and Yesterhaven, found at this thread; https://siegetheday.org/?q=node/1330

Elys All*Saves or Elys' Succubus Manager is recommended to play the mod, which most users of this site probably already use. However either use v1 of All*Saves or turn off the seefar option in the launcher as the mod incorporates seefar moods directly in the maps for better balance without the glitches and distortions caused by using a too high a level of seefar in the launcher. Version 1 of Elys All*Saves is distributed in the installer version in original DS2 (v2.2), Broken World (v2.3) and Steam versions.

Please put any comments, suggestions, reports, etc. about user made maps into that thread rather than here. All maps should be fully playable from start to finish but please expect bugs as they are still only alpha versions.

@bare_elf: I guess 'user-1' refers to SiegeEditor2 where you can set some kind of 'priority cathegories' like 'factory', 'expansion' or 'user' when creating a mod (also the SE1 does!?) but there are no 'priority numbers' to select.
All RTC-created tanks I think belong to the 'user' cathegory and wherefor the RTC additionally allows to set a priority number/level.
I have no documentation about it but this assumption would explain how SE- and RTC-created tank affect the game. Perhaps also priority numbers/levels for the other priority cathegories would be possible too but it's evidentially unused.

@IceLancer: It's seems you have installed the addon into the same folder as v2.2 !?
Most probably you will have less problems if you would install the addon into a separate folder than v2.2 (should work, the resources are linked via Windows registry) because the addon seems to have a rather intrasparent priority assignment.
Ensure that the tanks imported from DS1 are in the v2.2 resources forlder (and not in the resources folder of the addon), and the retanking of existing tanks shouldn't be necessary at all then.

IceLancer's picture

No i have complete separate folders for each game.
I don't use 2.2 only BW

Alright i see your point
I should not have used ds1 packs in bw folder but in 2.2 folder and bw will load them via registry as part of "old" game and then it wont interfere with BW X files.I wasn't thinking like that.
I guess we both learned something today then Smile
the flag -1 if set is the lowest priority it can be ,even readed as +65535 from TV
BW is reading it all backwards?

You can set -1 with tanker under advanced options.

I've downloaded the recent version of the Legendary mod and there are some weird glitches such as missing objects, invisible textures in areas such as inns and other places also, I can't seem to recruit any party members because after I click on them no dialogue box appears in the usual way Dungeon Siege 2 works they just stand their after the recruitment icon appears. Also there appears to be no Inn keeper and or merchants for some reason to their just not there only their icons but nothing else.Arok is an exception because an Inn Keeper appears.Heres something else thats glitchy the villagers who usually sit the tables and what not appear to be floating on the spots their supposed to be.

Oh and by the way the 2 new maps don't appear only Kingdom of Ehb,the Legends of Aranna,Ultraen Peninsula(its called Apocalypse for some reason),Yesterhaven, and the normal Dungeon Siege II nothing else.Am I missing anything? other versions of the mod worked without none of these glitches ever happening.Did I install it wrong?

I'm new by the way.

Hi
You may have installed the mod incorrectly.

Do you have Dungeon Siege 1 installed and patched to the last version which is 1.11.1462
Did you use the installer program or install the files seperately
Did you read the install instructions in the Readme file or on the front page of this site?

How to correctly install the Legendary Map Pack Mod.

1.Verify that Dungeon Siege 1 is installed and has been patched to 1.11.1462
2.Verify that Dungeon Siege 2 is installed and has been patched to 2.2
This must be done prior to installing the mod as down revision versions of the game will prevent it from working.
3.Download the installer for the mod as this will install the new files and correctly process the necessary Dungeon Siege 1 files. You can do the process manually but converting the Dungeon Siege 1 files can be tedious and you can even convert the wrong files.
After the games are patched and the mod has been installed by whatever process verify that DS1_objects.ds2res has been renamed Objects_DS1.ds2res. If it has not been renamed rename it manually or use the batch file included in the download package to rename it.
Now using the included Elys Allsaves start the game and see if it works. If it does work go to the forum and check for any files that are a newer revision and download them replacing the out of date versions. Again check to see if the game properly starts for each of the maps included. If it does you are good to go.
If you still have a problem come back to the forum and post the following:
1.Version of Windows being used.
2.List everything in your DS2 resources folder along with the revisions of each file. This is really necessary as some very odd things can prevent the mod from working.
Such as:
not updating the games prior to installing the mod
if you convert the files manually and you have DS LoA installed and you converted Expansion.dsres instead of Expansion.dsmap
if you do not rename ds1_objects to objects_ds1
you updated the various files but missed one such that you have an out of date file
you have a mod installed that has been proven to conflict with this mod.
The more you can tell us about the problem the easier it will be for us to debug it.

Elf

I might have missed updateing Dungeon Siege does it apply to the expansion Legends of Aranna as well. Two used the installer version instead of manual install so I have no idea if patching it fixes it or not

DrXann wrote:

Yes you must have Dungeon Siege 1 updated to version 1.11.1462 which will show as version 1.11.1 on the first page of the game screens.
Yes you must also update Dungeon Siege 2 to version 2.2 Both patches can be download from the site here.

IMPORTANT After patching DS1 and DS2 you must reinstall the mod. As the installer converts the ds1 files to be used by DS2 if you do not reinstall after patching the games it will still not work

Elf

I forgot to add is that this is the steam version of Dungeon Siege 2 and the normal boxed version of Legends of Aranna which includes Dungeon Siege.

DrXann wrote:

After patching the two games Included in the installer zip is pre-install fixes for owners of the Steam version of Dungeon Siege 1 and 2. These fixes will need to be applied before installation of the DS1 Legendary Mod or installation will fail.

IceLancer's picture

Steam Registry Fix for Dungeon Siege 1 and 2
This is essential for installation of Legendary
Steam version does not write any of game data in registry, and it is essential for installing Legendary and playing DS2 with DS1 mods

Even with the steam fixes I have two different versions of Dungeon Siege one steam and the other the boxed version which is Legends of Aranna and it still gives out the error where the people appear to be floating while sitting and there is missing textures such as tables and the like.Recruitable party members also remain in place not responding only doing their animation but no reply from the dialogue box.If you enter the building the game goes gray for a second and as soon you enter the building missing textures such as tables and no Inn Keeper.

I'm going to try something so bare with me.

If legends of Aranna is the boxed set that includes Dungeon Siege 1 and you installed the steam fix for DS1 then you may have to start over by reinstalling DS1 and Legends of Aranna then patching DS1 then, removing all of the files related to the legendary mod. Patching just DS2 for the steam version. Then reinstalling the legendary mod.

I would suggest that you provide a listing of all the files in your DS2 resources folder and the DS2 map folder. As it is also possible that you have a conflict with some other mod.

Elf

If you own the Steam versions of either or both Dungeon Siege 1 or Dungeon Siege 2, you will be unable to install the DS1 Legendary Mod for Dungeon Siege 2.

This is because unlike the retail versions of those two games, the steam versions don't create registry keys during their installation. As the installation program for the DS1 Legendary Mod depends on finding the location of the games through the registry, it will therefore fail and give an error message.

If you apply the registry fixes through either the Steam_Registry_Fix_for_Dungeon_Siege_1 or Steam_Registry_Fix_for_Dungeon_Siege_1 or both of them if necessary, you will be able to install the DS1 Legendary Mod. As a bonus if you have the Steam version of Dungeon Siege 2, you will be able to install the Broken World addon if you have it.

Warning! Applying these fixes if you don't have the Steam versions of the games (i.e. you own the retail versions instead) will disable your games. So only apply these fixes if you definitely own the Steam versions (easy enough to verify).

All of the mods you have installed are good. The monster level adjust is really needed to play the mod so the monsters are not to hard. The Diabloish map, the Return to Arhok are also set up to work with the legendary mod as are the 4 maps in my forum called third party maps. search for the past, training of the hero, Loridan and realm of kings.
I will check out your resources folder and compare it to mine.

Elf

Heres something thats also strange the previous version which was 14 it didn't have these glitches aside from the textureless model of the final form of Gom during the end boss fight.

I thought you had both DS1 and DSLoA installed. if you do there are some files missing such as DS1_ExpVoices.ds2res and DS1_Expansion.ds2res. This is not your problem as that would only prevent you from playing the maps like DS1_Expansion.ds2res.

I will do some additional looking

Elf

Well I didn't install them because I wanted to test and see if the glitches would still appear and they do such as floating objects that are supposed to be stationed on tables, missing objects in the Crypt such as those square statues that open up and anything else you can think of.Its specially bad on the Ultraen Peninsula(which is called Apocalypse in the new game menu). For example take your average npc villager that you see in the inn and he/she appears to be floating doing the sitting animation on invisible chairs.Tables and the like are no were to be seen only the other objects you can think of appear instead of the whole thing.Oh and as soon as you start the Peninsula the skybox appears black then as soon as you enter the inn the skybox appears as normal and there is nothing but villager npcs floating while sitting on chairs at invisible tables. This didn't happen in the previous version of the Legendary mod only this one which is quite bizarre if you ask me.Oh and if you attempt to click on any recruitable party member they just stand there doing idle animations and would not say anything. The inn keepers that are supposed to appear are missing as well Arok is an exception for some weird reason. To finish it off none of the merchants such as pet sellers, Reagent merchants, and anything else also won't appear only their icons will.

In the next version of the mod (which hopefully will be the first one out of beta) I will try a manual browsing dialog box for locating the proper folders. So steam users can locate the correct installation folder. Not quite as user friendly but the current method has issues if the steam version is installed and especially if it isn't installed to the default steam common apps folder.

Exhibit A:http://postimg.org/image/kln3m3ghl/ Broken/Black skybox

Exhibit B:http://postimg.org/image/57h297md9/ Skybox becoming normal upon entering a building

Exhibit C:http://postimg.org/image/vbtliqngb/ Missing Objects, No Inn Keeper, Idle recruitable party members not responding while being clicked on this may apply to the rest of the game and the mod this includes merchants such as blacksmiths,Reagent sellers, and Pet sellers as well any other merchant you come across.

Just copy the links in your internet browser and have a look at them and you'll be surprised.

I am not sure if the lift at Meren ever automaticly enabled Mirror Mode. I know most of the lifts and teleport systems do thanks to KillerGremal work. However there are some lifts one or two on each map that do not.

Elf

Elf did you look at the link at the links I gave in my previous post? Oh and by the way standard npcs such as quest givers, the Nercomancer or what ever its called that resurrects you party members, and standard npcs work.Only the missing merchants, inn keeper, the party members that won't respond while be clicked on. and the missing/invisible textures won't work for some reason.

The other version of the mod actually works except for the gray Gom model and some missing monster sounds.

I looked at your links to the images. Now my question is did you try what I told you? The problems you are having do not exist for others so something in your install is not right.

Elf

I've figured something out do saved games from previous versions of the mod happen to conflict with newer versions because if they do there was my issue.

DrXann,
I must assume from this that you are not using Elys AllSaves or Elys Succubus Manager to start your game.
Elf

Does the mod run with or without the Save Manger because when I start the save manger the game starts to load then it gets to a certain point when loading then it crashes with no errors just a black screen then back to the desktop.I forgot to mention that no cutscenes play when you start the Ultraen Peninsula (which is still called Apocalypse). Here is how it goes as soon as you start the Ultraen Peninsula(Apocalypse) the game just spawns your character. Then as soon as you enter the Inn the skybox goes back to normal.Version 14 didn't do this only this one does which I don't know why.
Other maps work with the cutscenes but I still get the glitches I've been mentioning

Sorry if I'm hounding you its just the mod works and all but certain things don't work such as the glitches I've been getting I don't know how it works for you.I'll give you another list of files I have.

I do not think that you followed the instructions that I gave you on how to fix the problem.
Here is what you need to do again.
1. Uninstall all the files related to the DS1 Legendary Mod even the ones that where converted from DS1
2. Reinstall DS1 from your disks
3. patch DS1 to version 1.11.1462
4. use the steam patch for DUNGEON SIEGE 2 ONLY.
5. Reinstall the DS1 Legendary Mod using the installer
6. make sure to use the install program for Elys AllSaves. If you are playing from DS2 use the AllSaves for DS2 and not the one for BrokenWorld
This should correct the issues you are having, because others have had exactly the same issues and it was because of the above things.
If it does not it is do to the fact that The steam version of Dungeon Siege 2 has the same version number as Broken World VERSION 2.3 Not sure how to modify the version number of DS2 Steam to 2.2 so it will work.

Now you can get from places like amazon for under 20 dollars The DS2/BrokenWorld DVD. That would in my estimation be the fastest and easiest fix.

Elf

Because the steam version of Dungeon Siege 2 is 2.3
the retail version of Dungeon Siege 2 is 2.2
the retail version of Dungeon Siege 2 Broken World is 2.3

It is possible that Elys AllSaves for Broken world might open the steam version of Dungeon Siege 2 because of the revision number
You might try that.
