This mod allows players the opportunity to play Kingdom of Ehb, Utraean Peninsula, Legends of Aranna and Yesterhaven from the original Dungeon Siege in Dungeon Siege 2 and it's expansion, with all the benefits that provides. Think of it as more of a remastered version of the original Dungeon Siege than a mere port to a newer engine.

The mod is based on Killergremal's original work on the Utraean Peninsula, Kingdom of Ehb and Yesterhaven, found at this thread; https://siegetheday.org/?q=node/1330

Elys All*Saves or Elys' Succubus Manager is recommended to play the mod, which most users of this site probably already use. However either use v1 of All*Saves or turn off the seefar option in the launcher as the mod incorporates seefar moods directly in the maps for better balance without the glitches and distortions caused by using a too high a level of seefar in the launcher. Version 1 of Elys All*Saves is distributed in the installer version in original DS2 (v2.2), Broken World (v2.3) and Steam versions.

Please put any comments, suggestions, reports, etc. about user made maps into that thread rather than here. All maps should be fully playable from start to finish but please expect bugs as they are still only alpha versions.

The fault is with the Loridan Map and you would only see the problem is you have that map installed. In the Loridan map Cecily really is the daughter of the innkeeper doing his job while he is out of town. I made some changes and everything is now working correctly for the Loridan Map, Vanilla DS2 and the DS2 Map running under Adepts. See the changes I made in the Adepts Thread here http://www.siegetheday.org/?q=node/2538#comment-44803

Hi, I just downloaded this great mod to relive my experience with DS1, but after defeating ruby gargoyle in the crypts I can't initiate any conversation with Ulora. I went to stonebridge and it happened the same with Gyorn, thus I'm stuck in the game because I can't complete the mission. Help?

An unbreakable barrel, if you look close the edge of the barrel is slightly in the wall. An unaccesable weapon rack.

Hello BlackArmor
I just found this post because you have not as yet registered. Only Site Administration can see posts from non registered members and we are not always here. I fixed this post so the site users can see your post, but if you register everyone will see your posts as soon as you post them.

Now to your problem - for us to help we will need answers to the following questions;

1. What version of Windows do you use?
2. Are you playing the retail version of the games or the steam version of the games?
3. Before installing the Legendary Mod did you verify that both DS1 and DS2 where patched to the latest level.
DS1 should have a revision number of 1.11.1462
DS2 should have a revision number of 2.2 (2.3 for the steam version)
If you had not patched the games prior to installing you will need to start over.
4. since the legendary mod is continuing to evolve have you installed the latest updates to the mod?
5. Do you have any other mods installed in your ds2 resources folder?
6. Are you using the AllSaves icon to start or the DS2 icon to start?

If you can post a list or image of your resources folder (must be registered to do this) it would be very useful in troubleshooting this.

Thank You
Elf

updated Valley Peek for BW with radars and new monster spawns using splitting_ooze.skrit and
generator_in_object
http://www.siegetheday.org/?q=node/3243, this map requires the Legendary Mod to be installed. It still needs more work but is a better conversion than the first version I released.

The updated map looks good Darkelf. I ran about the inn for a few minutes before I realized the two monsters on radar in the inn where actually in the barrels. Very nice touch, I think why those Rock Beasts where so angry is they where cramped from being in barrel.
Now as per the readme file I placed the mod in the Broken World Resources folder but it did not show up in the inventory of the maps however it did when I put it in the DS2 Resources folder and started Broken World. This might have something to do with also running DS2_Map_Selection_Menu_Fix_v1.ds2res which expands the number of maps that the game will display. However you would need to ask iryan about that.

Valley Peek shots

I put Vallypeek in the Broken World resource folder.

The first hit on this Rockbeast put the level 22 Nature Mage up over 20 levels.

The second Beast spawned so many baby rockbeasts and summoned so many Shails that the program froze.

thanks for the screenshots! Up over 20 levels does that mean u gained 20 levels???
seems the code has limits, I am sorry that it spawned too many, I will have to reduce the spawn count down from 12 and the timer increased from 2.5 back to 4 or 5 perhaps ... the Rock Beasts should be called Rock Queens they are baby factories and their spawns also spawn babies. I wanted them to multiply to fill the map up, as I tried to use the map tuning in siege editor 2 but couldn't get it to save, but that would have been the preferred monster spawner.

I don't have the Map Selection Menu Fix installed, but it could also be do to the fact I use a lower 32767 priority so any mod with higher or same priority will get preferred. the map does indeed work in ds2 resources but requires broken world assets cause it uses bw monster spells, thus that is why I suggested the bw resource folder in the readme.

guess I will be making v3 to fix bugs, I sure there are a few Mimics that need fixed as well.

From level 22 to level54 on first shot, finished battle at level 78. The spawning and spells do not happen if you put the map in the DS2 resource folder.

The Bone Minions a a little weak compared to the Rock Monsters( Bone Minions are really mini-bosses in disguise  )

Dwarf

- managed to get them all up and running in Windows10 Tech Preview (build 10041)..

- Huzzah!! Cheer

- still working on the DS2 compatibility settings..

Hello, I am back !

About this translation work we talked back them (french version)... I wondered... how to proceed ?

I would suggest making a French Version of the Read me file for the legendary mod first. Once that is done we can look at which map within the legendary mod that we want to start with.

Elf

Can you give me the link ?

Gemeaux333 wrote:

Under the 4 pictures scan down and you will see in BLUE READ ME FILE and the following link
http://www.siegetheday.org/~iryan/files/Betav31/DS1_Legendary_Mod_for_Dungeon_Siege_2_Beta31.txt

you can open it from there or from here. It will open a text file. Then you can use your browser to Save the text file and do whatever translations you wish.
Editing the maps will require a good deal more work and all text will need editing...So we will start with a small map. Thank you
Elf

thanks

Besides, i've began a new game with "Kingdom of Ehb" and noticed that the Narator lines (audio) were in french but the Norrick lines were english (audio), why ?

You I am sure are playing with the French version of Dungeon Siege 1 and 2. With the Legendary Mod all of the maps that where ported to DS2 from DS1 have had character dialog edited, changed or added to. All of those changes are in English only as that is the primary language of those of us that are making and testing the legendary mod. So since the Narrator on the Kingdom of Ehb has not had his conversation edited for you he would appear to be speaking French, for me he would be speaking English. Depends on what language the original game was written in. Norrick has had his conversation in the DS2 version edited several times to give a better explanation of the story line and since the legendary mod is currently only in English that would explain it. I am sure when you encounter a character not in the original map they will speak English, characters from the original map that do not control the quests or story line will most likely be in French for you, but the NPCs Quest givers and such would appear in English or possibly French,
That is where the translation is necessary.

Elf

Yes, that make sense... for the sound edition I guess the program "Audacity" will come in handy (to use with the french sound files) !

(A bit off-topic) In the past months, I've created a mod for Duke Nukem 3D to have the voices/lines in french (using the assets of the french version of Duke Nukem Forever) :

It's good to see you are familar with audio editing. Laughing out loud
For several NPCs on the DS1=>DS2 maps I (Iryan probably too) often used shortened versions of existing english voice MP3 files (shortened for example with MP3trim to get a higher chance that they will mirror some kind of voice summary of that what it written in the conversation).

Now concerning these (written) conversations, there are many new conversations for Ehb in DS2 without any chance to be auto-translated by existing DS1/DS2 resouces.

Quite a few, so I 'asked' Google to translate them (is Babylon better?), and you can find them in an already pre-fromated file in DS1_Map_World_Beta31p_French.zip.
Still, it's a generic translation without any feeling for archaic RPG formulations (half-giant'ish slang not to mention), so a revision form someone with French as mother tounge would be needed.

These translation are made of slightly fromat-tuned conversations: DS1_Map_World_Beta31p_ConvTuned.ds2res.
(Some flaws, as trivial as they were, just killed the mass-google-translating).
@Iryan: I recommand copying them. If interested I can list of formatting tunings/fixes.

To turn the DS1_Map_World_Beta31p_French.zip now into a French language mod finally, the French version of the 'dscore-text.gas' from the DS1 language.dsres (I didn't have this) must be added with a different file name to that zip/mod as well (there is already a dummy file inside at the right place/folder).

Hi All,
Been very busy with taking care of relatives, so the playing time has been somewhat limited. However when time allows I have been playing DS2 with Adepts Enabled and I have just completed all secondary quests up to and including Vix's Vengeance. Yes I am aware that there are 2 more spirits from the Spirits of Aranna quest 17 and 18 but they are ahead and I know exactly where they are waiting. Next chance I get I will move onward. So far Iryan I have not encountered any issues with Adepts and DS2 after the creation of the Heirloom Quest Fix, which worked nicely.

Elf

Better for me to translate from scratch, because google is very bad translator and babylon only translate word by word !

I have finished the translation work for the Readme (borring/teddious in the context) :

http://www.4shared.com/office/fEb1UAHzce/DS1_Legendary_Mod_pour_Dungeon.html

Durng the translation, I found out that there is a secret donjon in LOA, and i am curious to know how to access it in the original game !

Once you kill the Shadowjumper, go back near the entrance to the goblin tunnels. There is a door of to one side up a slope that was un-openable that can now be opened

Dwarf

Yes indeed, I have noticed that door you are talking about, and have always been wondering why there was a passage behind that door if you could not open it !

I would think that one of the maps by Psychogun2003 that have been converted to DS2 might be worth looking at. The maps where originally in French and very poorly translated into English back in DS1 times. There are several missing Lore Books, conversations and such. Maybe you could look at the original maps and then Correct the DS2 English Maps so they contain the full story and then re-translate them into French if you think it is necessary.

The names of the maps are Training the Hero, Search for the Past I will get a package together of the maps
The DS1 French Maps
The DS1 English Maps
The DS2 Conversions of the English Maps
Put them in a zip file upload the Zip file and give you a link. Give me a few day to do this as the real world is getting in the way.

Elf

Which program do I need to get to read/modify the files ?

So I have to complete/fix the english DS2 version and make a french DS2 version ?

Gemeaux333 wrote:

It is not necessary to have a complete version English Version of the Dungeon Siege 2. However there are many copies out there on places like Amazon where the price is very low under 5 dollars U.S.
The list of modding tools required can be shot or long depending on how much in depth you wish to go.

As a Start you should have Tank Viewer 2, Tank Creator 2, Skrit Pad (note pad or world pad will work)

Dungeon Siege Tool Kit both for DS1 and DS2 is also very useful.

All of these applications can be found in the Download section under DS1 and DS2 tools.

The files for Training of the Hero by Psychogun2003 The links contain the french ds1 version the english ds1 version and the DS2 conversion made from the ds1 English version.

http://www.siegetheday.org/~bare_elf/333/Heros.dsmap -- DS1 French version of Training of the Hero
http://www.siegetheday.org/~bare_elf/333/HerosEV.dsmap -- DS1 English version of Training of the Hero used to create DS1_Map_TrainingoftheHero_Alpha5.ds2res
http://www.siegetheday.org/~bare_elf/333/Lisez-moi.txt -- French read me
http://www.siegetheday.org/~bare_elf/333/Read%20me.txt -- English read me
http://www.siegetheday.org/~bare_elf/333/DS1_Map_TrainingoftheHero_Alpha5.ds2res -- DS2 conversion

What I would do if I could speak both English and French would be to open the French DS1 version and The English DS2 Version Using the French version add the missing lore books, correct the conversations of the English Version to more closely match the original French conversations and Fix the Place Names for the various places so they are correct. Then if I thought it where necessary Make a DS2 Training of the Hero for for French Language Players. Not sure if I would make the English Version or French Version of the DS2 Training of the Hero first. That would be up to you Gemeaux333. I know if there where a Welsh Version of DS2 I would do the Welsh Version First then the English. Thankfully I do not have to do that as the conversions would be painful Smile

Elf

Thank you so much for the French version of the Read Me file for the Legendary Mod. I have added a link for it right under the English Read Me.

Elf

This is not the good file, I did not do this translation !

The good one is here : http://www.4shared.com/office/fEb1UAHzce/DS1_Legendary_Mod_pour_Dungeon.html

I have finished the modification for Training of a hero (haven't managed to tank it) :

http://www.4shared.com/zip/3Axz_aS9ba/Training_of_a_hero_re-translat.html

Let see if it worked... if it worked, I would like to do the translation of "The kingdom of Ehb" !
Where can I find the original quests and conversations ?

I believe I have the correct file now. Not sure what happened the first time I went to 4shared to get the file. I have also downloaded your other file for Training the Hero and will have a look at it and retank it for you please proceed with Kingdom of Ehb. Again sorry for the wrong file getting linked.

Elf

I have just finished the editing for the audio files of the mod :

http://www.4shared.com/zip/wYA-uH0cce/DS1_mod_content_beta30_french.html

At least I have edited the files I can easily recognize thanks to their names (those made with the original DS2 and DS1 sound files) !

Can you tell me where I can find the original DS1 Quests , Conversations and Lorebooks ?
And how to change the "screen names" of monsters, npcs and some objects like pannels (for the crypts of the sacred blood, wesrin cross, etc...), and the objects that you loot ?
