How did you hear we were back? And where should we go?

Hey ya'll I believe it was sharkull that posted the question in the Q & A forum and I think its a very valid question so I thought it deserved its own topic, How did you hear that Siegetheday was back? And now to add a question of my own, what would you like to see Siegetheday become? More of a 'friendly' site much like siegenetworks was? A massive modding resources? Something else? What? Looking forward to your feedback. forums: |

Glad you like the question.
1. I didn't "hear" that the site was back... I was just checking periodically to see if Siege-Mods or siegetheday.org would return, and was pleasantly surprised recently.
2. I'd like to see siegetheday become a friendly community site that consists of stuff for both modders and gamers (i.e. potential modders and mod players). Forums are great, but I think more is better... Non-mod based content draws in newbie visitors, and mod content is the key to longevity for a game like DS/DS2. I know that hosting mods is probably not practical for a community site (due to server overhead / bandwidth costs...) but I would like to see a way for modders to at least link to their mods. Modding tools (!) and tutorials would also be welcome IMHO.
^_^
I'm with Sharkull on this one. Same reasons.... I'm a gamer/potential modder...
I heard via SiegeNetwork... and I'm really glad it's back!! :welcome:
Why not just include a specific (sticky) topic where we can post links to Mods, etc?
I can think of three reasons.
1. Visibility / ability to search for mods quickly...
2. The ability to update a mod / mod link quickly...
3. Support questions for mods will quite likely find their way into the links thread making it rather bloated and long... not very user friendly.
Considering these points, one thread per mod would be better, but even that wouldn't provide the easiest mod browsing interface (no categories, different format for each thread...). Then again, I'm just suggesting my own opinions here... all input is welcome.
The idea is to have links to mods and resources via the frontpage.
Hmm direction? How about becoming the best DS2 modding community out there?
Listening to the soundtrack for "The return of the King" right now so that felt a bit overdramatic..
I saw it on sol77's post at SN.
Oi, like how siege-mods would have become. I loved siege-mods . I heard about siegetheday reopening at herena forge.
Savante directed me here from gpg ds2 mod forums after i asked about siege-mods.com
guess its back to basics for ds2 modding. its very sad, considering how well-done siege-mods was.
Thank you
I heard about siegetheday.org in the #siegetheday channel and i saw at at the forge...
While trying to get my Username/password reset on SiegeNetwork (turns out the email address I had setup w/ was on aol hehe), started checking out posts there again.
I haven't checked the other sites I have bookmarked (from DS1 days) lately, but when siege-mods was around - that was the only site hosting Mods. That would seem to be one direction to go in, or is there concern over bandwidth?
Not bandwidth. But my host has a dumb policy on filehosting.
Tried to work out an agreement with them but nothing so far.
I'll try to find another solution to the problem though. Maybe I'll do what SN did.
Well there were several ways I know you were back.
Herena Forge had it posted, and you told me on irc #siegetheday.
I would like to have both a source for DS1 and DS2 mods... However most of the places I could suggest have limited bandwidth.
As for letting people know we are here I would suggest that if you are a member of another site that you have them post a message saying we are here and what the address is.
Would seem bare_elf got a makeover since Siege-Mods, she's a hottie now! Woot! lol
Silly dwarf this has always been my Siege the Day Avatar :P well except for when i was using another one
Ah, so this is where you guys have been hiding. I wondered what happened to the site, and was reading SiegeNetwork a little while ago and saw a URL addy, so I followed it, and here I am again. But then I guess that's what I get for playing DS2 offline all this time.
I see some new avatars, and notice some missing avatars (including my old one) as well.
Anyway, hey everybody. It's good to see the site back and doing well.
Hey! Welcome back.
Yes welcome back.
Nice to see some old comers finally returning.
