NNK files

I just wonder if you make new nodes and objects.....the they wil be saved to the mod maps in the ds 2 my game maps........is it not possible en if so how to add a own map ? like we did in ds 1? because if i will make al nodes and textures just to one map then it will become a choas Crying who knows something about this? All hwat i know till know is that when an texture do have another extra name for a node (more then t_b_name) the node can not even seen in the SE , yes the name of the node and thats it...........help

Tharidos, I hope you got what you needed during our IM chat but I will answer this for the benift of the public.

The NNK is exactly the same conceptually as it was presented in DS1. This is well documnted in http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/a/f/5af6f50a-4a45-427f-81a3-945bb5a4763e/SUCompilation.chm

There is also a bug that makes terrain nodes appearing in the root terrain folder look like a folder instead of a SNO. You can not select these entries to place them either. There are actually some gpg straggler nodes that ended up in the root as well. I do not know if those are actually used in game. However its best not to have nodes in the root folder anyway. Following the NNK tutorials its best to make some subfolders and export to there. I like to go into those folders while I'm exporting and see if siegemax actually succeded in putting my content in the right place. If not, then I know I've made a typo in NNK or model naming in siegemax. IF you follow the instructions in the NNK tutorial within the DS1 SiegeUniversity material above, you should have success. If you are a non-believer that a large % of problems are nnk related I can tell ya, its true Smile

Thanks for the answer. I have fixed al now and it works. True a bug there is. After creating a nnk file with the right folders it work good and yes i have seen that it is the same as in ds 1........only the gas files belonging to the textures do have more possibilties. In ds 1 i had no problems with any of this. I have made a start with exporting my nodes-sets but they are not all textured yet, but that is a matter of time. After that i will expand them.........making my own map will be more difficult then i have not much experience with the ds 2 editor nor the ds 1, that will be my problem and i have to take some time to do so. Time is that what i do not have mmuch so it might take some time.

Thx for the support.

Has anyone figured out the new NNK format as found in namingkey200.nnk in Logic.ds2res/art? It looks less verbose, but also less compehensible.

I use the old way . The same as in ds I and that works oke for me. Tobe honest............i do see not that difference witht he way is was in DS I...........maybe i mis something?
