A Game of WHERE AM I

I was sitting here wondering just how many people who visit the site have played Dungeon Siege, Dungeon Siege Legends of Aranna, Dungeon Siege 2 and Broken World and just how many maps they have played in each version of the game. I know I could ask the question in a poll, but decided this might be more fun.

This is a game we used to play on Herena_Forge and a few other sites years ago.

The rules are simple I will post a screen shot.
Then you will tell me:
1. Which Game (DS1, LoA DSII or Broken World)
2. Which Map I am playing.
3. The location on the map that the screen shot was taken.

The person that gets the right answer will post the next screen shot and so on.

So here is the first Where Am I Screen Shot

Elf

The problem with this is that a lot of maps "borrowed" entire sections of terrain from other maps, so a Droog village in one can look a lot like a piece of another. And now that content has been ported from one game to another, it's even harder to tell. You're using Cat Mansion characters to prevent us from getting any clues from them, too.

Right now, I'm guessing
1) All of them
2) The other one
3) Top right-hand corner, just before all the mosnters jump on you.

(And if I win, can I post stuff from my unreleased map with Lara swimming underwater?) Like this :goofy:

I would guess you are in Quillrabe.

I see your point ghastley. So a minor change in the rules. The map must be released.

1. Is it DS1 or DS2
2. Name of Town or Location
3. If you know the name of the map put it down as well.

We have a winner since SJR picked Quillrabe

Don't let the herd of cows confuse you, this is a place everyone has seen, likely many times.

Looks like the small pond in front of the first house in DS1 Kingdom of Ehb.

It is for sure a Dungeon Siege 1 map we are looking at based on the icons on the screen. However I do believe that SJR would be trickier than that.

My guess is Hiroth in the Utraean Peninsula in DS1 using a multiplayer mod. It could be LOU as well but I think not because of only the one party member. That pond looks like the lake at Hiroth, that cobblestone looks like Hiroth and those bushes at the top of the pic looks like the ones found at Hiroth.

If sjr agrees I think Iryan got it right. DS1 Multiplayer Hiroth

Yop, iryan got it, it is Hiroth.

Thanks but I may have had an advantage since I've spent quite a bit of time there lately, especially in the Editor.

Anyhow this next pic may be a bit harder though there's a few clues in the pic if you look closely. It is from one of DS1 Map Pack maps running in Broken World. So which map and what region.

Think I just might have a slight edge here, since I spent so much time testing the maps of the DS1 Map Pack. The map is Legends of Aranna, why because you have two Utraeans in your party. The female you met in the Giants Camp and the male in Illcor. You have not found Algher yet but you have talked to the Historian Therg at the dig site. You have taken the elevator down to the underground city, and I would guess by screen shot you are somewhere near the reflection pool.

Good try but not quite. The Utraeans could be misleading you but I definitely see where you're coming from.

You are in the small cave that is blocked by rubble that has to be cleared by exploding barrels just before the cave where Merik is. DS2 Kingdom of Ehb.

Right on, well done. It was a tricky one as it could have been a couple of places like bare_elf noticed but the radar kind of gave it away if you looked closely.

The radar was the clincher for me, and I may have a slight advantage there.

This area is not seen very often but should not be too hard.

It appears to be from DS2 and it could be part of the animation sequence from the Siege of Greilyn Beach just before they enter the temple and meet Valdis and Drevin is killed. Then again I could be way off Insane

Elf

Greilyn Beach is correct. Though normally only seen through the NIS. Smile

1. This Map was released in 2005
2. It took until 2006 for it to be translated into English
3. It was designed to work with Legends of Aranna
Note the name of the town and the color of the NPC as they might help

Good Luck all you need is the name of the map and if you can name the person that made the mod.

C'est à dur ?

in time and is a map from a foreign country just too difficult or has everyone just wondered off to the real world and forgotten to tell me?

Elf

Yes, yes and no. Smile

Well here are a few clues. You can find the map on Lisa Hui's old site if you search the authors between Omniscient Colossus and Quantum Viper. Le fabricant de la carte n'est pas Elys ou Cherito mais vit dans le même pays

Le Règne du Chaos?

You have it PhoeniX. Great little map.

Shouldn't be too difficult. Smile

I know that is not his real name. This map is also from another country. Its the Erthos Struggle Map.

Elf

Bare_Elf wins again. Smile

This is another old DS1 Map. It does not work with most armor or weapon mods, however the mod does support the old Cat Mansion Boys and Girls Take a good look at the inventory screen as that offers important clues. This map is also from a country in Europe.

Here is a bit of the readme file that will set the time frame of the map and the people who helped:

This map has been done to put Hamcat's Catmansion models into situation; so, you will find in there models, textures and icons from his mods: Cat Mansion boys, Cat Mansion girls, Cat Mansion costumes and Cutie girls. All the other originals models included in this siegelet come from DS Revived mods from Jason 'Ikkyo' Gripp and Francisco 'Omniscient_Colossus' Athens, creator of the most sweetly nasty looking sharp, blunt or pointy things available around (aaaah... the skull tundo... Heavy Metal Forever !!!), except for Theresnothingleft's Chakram models. Finally, the dragon inventory skin is from TomCat39 (Long live Ozzy!!!). Thanks and cheers for the artists. Also, I would be unfair not mentionning Tonga, as I borrowed the idea to render a ninja armor in his mod.

The haste and set items skrits are from Witness. The spell combine skrits are from Xaa and Trailstorm-Radeem.
The cheater scanner and potions skrits are from Xaa.

The Karate font is a freeware font made by Gary D. Jessey.

Good Luck

So if one of you would please post a new screen shot we could continue the game. I would wait to make it official but my Internet connection is being weird today so I am not sure if I will be able to log on later.

Kaishun by Charietto was the correct answer. Sorry for delay, was very busy today. Smile

Upping the difficulty a bit with this picture.

EDIT: The teleporter and surrounding flora will give clues to where the screenshot is from.

EDIT 2: All you need is the map screenshot is from. Area/region do not matter. Smile

Maybe a crytic clue for those who may not know (I feel I'm disqualified from answering this one which may be a clue in itself).

I'm new but been around forever.
I've been there but you couldn't reach me.
But now you can if you look.
In the land of wizards over the sea.
