Chatty Kathy's

How about a thread of general chatting? Maybe we can post things about ourselves to get to know each other better, or just post chatty stuff. So anyway, here are a few things about me:
My name is Kathleen.
I am in my late 30's.
I am 5 foot 2 inches.
I have dark brown curly hair that is to the middle of my back.
I like to read and write and play Dungeon Siege.
I like to post in forums.
My favorite pizza is mushroom

So...tell me about you? Smile

BTW, this is the "real" Chatty Cathy

A sense of accomplishment certainly is a wonderful thing at times.

I just found this old pic, which was taken last year sometime (part way through the main deck railing installation). There are now stairs (with railing) from the deck to the ground (starting where the rope is blocking a gap in the pic). Smile

Started college again today. Oh how I missed it.

I was planning on going back this semester, but decided for a few reasons to wait until January. I miss it, though. Sad

LK, what is your major in?

***grumble***

I feel very upset. Evil

Double majoring in Business Administration and Game Design.

Sorry, that was me.

Kathy why are you upset? Sad

Hi Sara...no, I am ok now. Something made me angry that I thought happened within the last couple of days, but I was mistaken and it had taken place a while ago. NP, but thanks for asking. Smile

I am sure everyone knows this but I just wanted to ask that if you see spam in the forums please don't reply to it. There is a thread here SiegetheDay.org Forum Index -> Site Discussion>spam if you would like to mention what thread the spam is in. Please don't quote it though, that will re-post the spam links. Don't feel obligated to do so. Smile

Sol is aware of the situation and we have all been busy deleting the spam when we find it.

Again, I know you guys know this, but I wanted to post a friendly reminder. Thanks! Laughing out loud

Don't mind me, you guys. (re:last post) Sometimes I am such a nebbish.

He is a nebbish who might be played effectively by Woody Allen. He attracts the sympathy of lower-echelon mammals but finds it difficult to relate to dogs and human beings.

OOoh, very nice...I used to be an English major before making the bg switch to social sciences. I love language and literature, there is so much knowledge to be gained.

Plus it is fun to learn unusual words. Laughing out loud

I just got home from a great Baseball game... not just for the game itself (my team won), but because of the seats I had (through a friend of my father). We were just behind the on-deck circle for the home-town Jays, only three rows from the field. Very cool. Cool Sitting so close gives an amazing perspective on pitches, and shows how skilled the players are who can play at that level.

As an extra special bonus, four seats to my right was sitting one of the all time greatest football quarterbacks: Damon Allen. "Allen leads the All-Time Pro football passing chart with 70,596 passing yards...", (taking the lead this past Monday). I didn't ask for an autograph (I'm not that type of person...) but I'm happy to have seen him being treated with respect by the fans that did ask (he was graciously accommodating).

The whole event was a surprise to me as well... I only went because the person my Dad was planning on taking had to cancel unexpectedly. Fortunately for me I had the evening free... Smile

Wow, sounds like a wonderful time. I have never been to a professional sporting event. I do however, own a Boston Red Sox baseball cap...in pink. Smile (suits me better than navyblue).

Perhaps the link was wrong, but what exactly about that article was scary?

Loup_Ombrage's picture

Sorry, I didn't realise that it would update- the original one said that the meteorite caused a sonic boom felt mostly over the canterbury region and it was undetermined whether or not it actually landed, whether any damage was caused (it shook some buildings quite badly) and whether or not it was radioactive. I dunno about you folks over in the northern hemisphere but meteorites causing sonic booms over several towns and one (relatively) large city is quite uncommon here in lil' old NZ. You're right, though, the updated article isn't all that scary.

Hi all! Laughing out loud

I guess the forums have been a little quiet lately, so here I am poking you guys.

*poke* Smile

coo-ee..!!

I've been over at my brother-in-law's place, he's just started his own business..
helping him with Microsoft Office - gosh, I've been talking for nearly 6 hours about
the way things work and how to do this and that.. he's not really computer-literate
yet, so I've had to more or less explain every term used.. still, it's been quite useful
going over some things with him - kinda like reinforcing what I already know..

- so now I'm going to relax and play Legends of Aranna.. in search of yet another lost staff..

..why do these wizards keep losing their most precious possessions, they're very careless
- I mean, you don't put down the most powerful artifact in the land and forget
where you left it, surely..!! 8O

*poke*
*poke*

c'mon everybody - wake up..!! Wink

wow, 6 hours? I bet you need to relax! I am sorry to say I am just not that patient a person. Smile

Sharkull's picture

I've done some one-on-one technical training professionally, and in my experience it all depends on your student as to how patient you need to be. With someone who drinks in the information well (and subject matter you fully understand), time passes quite quickly, but someone who's slower to pick things up can certainly be frustrating at times.

My Dad has recently decided to learn the basics of computing (word processing...) and I've refused to teach him... I'd tend to go far too quickly for his skill level (complete newbie). Thankfully there are some courses near here targetted towards a senior audience, and he's done quite well with them. When he asks me for help with something I do help (obviously), but teaching him new subjects is something that we would both be frustrated with.

hiya, Sharkull..
- yes, after a while it feels like you're going in circles..!!
- little and often, is probably the best way forward..
- and Tom's very bright, so it shouldn't take long - I've lent him my huge Excel guide..
- main problem was wrestling with the Dell/Radeon set-up and his cable connection's firewall..

hey, Kathycf..
..on the subject of bots, this is actually quite a catchy tune..

- later.. Wink

Laughing out loud I think we could have used "Anna" a few weeks ago here...
