File placement.

Heyyo, Not sure if this belongs in this forum or in general chatter, but I figure it wouldn't hurt to post in here. As you may or may not know, I downloaded DS2 from Steam and therefore I cannot run mods and, most likely, It'll be a pain in the neck to get broken world Installed when I buy a new copy, So.. I figure, what if I just do some fancy file placement and make a new desktop shortcut? The way I see it (With my cripplingly limited knowledge of computers) if the files are not in the steam directory but instead as they were had I installed the game from a disk, I would be able to play the mods and install Broken world without issue? If this would work, could you tell me what the directory of your Dungeon siege II is? Meaning, where is the folder that holds the application itself located? If it wouldn't work... let me know why, at least. 'Danke~ forums: |

Iryan has already solved this for people wanting to use the Legendary map pack and have ds2 steam. The problem is that steam does not add registery values and such. So if you get this file located here and run it you should not have issues with either installing Broken World or anything we have created here like the map pack and Adepts.

It appears to be a good fix, however the problem is that it seems you need Dungeon siege AND Dungeon siege 2 both on steam. I have Dungeon siege 2 on steam and the others still on Disk. Is there a workaround or will it still work?
Sorry Raymus but I do not know the answer to that but iryan is here.
It,ll be easy enough to create a version that will. It's a very simply process and I,ll get onto it tonight.
So I,ll basically split it into two modules, one for ds1 and one for ds2, which will cover all possibilities.
Thank you, Iry~ Glad it was a simpler fix than I had expected. If, by chance, it turns out to be a lot harder than inticipated, don't fret. I was looking into getting my hands on DS2 Deluxe anyway sometime soon. What with Christmas coming up and such. So yes, thank you very much.
Here's a standalone steam registry fix just for Dungeon Siege 2. It will not touch your Dungeon Siege registry values.

You should now be able to install Broken World. One user has reported to me that this is possible through the previous combined fix and as this one is practically the same as concerns the DS2 module, I believe it should work.
Note that this fix could easily be applied through a reg file or even editing the Registry directly, which users on the Steam forums have had to do in order to get Broken World working.
