How to join #siegetheday on IRC

Note that this chat channel is not a part of this site, but many of our members spend time there together with other DS fans.

Direkt link: irc://irc.gamesurge.net:6667/siegetheday.

Server: irc.gamesurge.net on port 6667
Channel: #siegetheday

To chat on IRC you will need a client that can connect to an IRC server.

Some suggested clients:
Mirc
Klient
HydraIRC
IceChat

These programs come with IRC plugins/extensions:
Miranda (plugin included)
Trillian (plugin included)
Firefox - download extension

If you don't have or want an IRC client you can go here. You need to have java enabled for the chatclient to work. Simply type in "/join #siegetheday" without the " and you are there. You should change your nickname in the bottom right corner of the chat window.

If you are unfamiliar with IRC you can check out these links for information:

Here is some information on how to setup mIRC, the probably most common client for windows.

You need to have java and java enabled in your browser to do that however...

True.

This post was made in 2006, and while I know the IRC Chat is still on the side bar of the website, is it still something we use?
I dunno. Is it time to just make a Skype group or something and use it as an IM? Reading through the post (Yes, I've done this all before and got on the IRC thing, like... two laptops ago.) it seems overtly complicated nowadays.

Just a suggestion. xD

All the old guard hang there.

yup come hang out with us on IRC...come meet Yonder and LR Tongue

may also want to say it probably better to make an account on gamesurge.net so when someone wants to run their IRC client, they will be able to join rooms without the irc client complaining that the account isn't registered..

also another free irc client is http://tellini.info/software/orion/, which is what I use cause I like simple and fast without all the extras. lol
