This thread is devoted to comments, bug reports and fixes and discussion about the DS1 Legendary Mod for Dungeon Siege 2 and Dungeon Siege 2: Broken World. Full version Installer version DS2 Legendary Mod v1.01 at MODDB Split version Installer version Hotfix for fades issue in Kingdom of Ehb v1.01 Please note that the mod must be installed in the Dungeon Siege 2 resources folder even if you own Broken World. Unexpected glitches will occur if you don't. The installer version also includes a number of min-mods and a simple mod manager to enable them, which isn't available if you download the mod as separate modules below. Here's the links of all required files for the full version as separate modules; Please note that the DS1 Content Pack is included within the mod but for reference here's the separate download link; Mod Game Manual Current Readme for KillerGremal Mods This mod allows players the opportunity to play Kingdom of Ehb, Utraean Peninsula, Legends of Aranna and Yesterhaven from the original Dungeon Siege in Dungeon Siege 2 and it's expansion, with all the benefits that provides. Think of it as more of a remastered version of the original Dungeon Siege than a mere port to a newer engine. However either use v1 of All*Saves or turn off the seefar option in the launcher as the mod incorporates seefar moods directly in the maps for better balance without the glitches and distortions caused by using a too high a level of seefar in the launcher. Version 1 of Elys All*Saves is distributed in the installer version in original DS2 (v2.2), Broken World (v2.3) and Steam versions. Although it will not correct the "problem" you are having. I would recommend two things.
1. In the top section of the forum you will find the most current versions of all the files and I would recommend that you down load them and replace the lower level versions of the files.
As a good number of corrections have occurred between level 30 and 31.
2. I would also suggest that you read the read me file and the forum as many of your questions have been answered there.

Yes SchuhuuEule download and replace any of the files that are of a newer version.
Also get the level adjustment mod.

I have looked at it briefly but presently the staff is busy with moving the site to new servers and upgrading the software.
After this hard-work I decided to take a break of a few months (I will probably find the courage to do the translation for Legend of Aranna within a year), I wanted to test Kingdom of Ehb first with the changed I've bring (I just need someone to retank the files in the "zip archives" because I don't manage to do it)
I got LoA to work but theres no sound for cinematics, any advice?
A little more detail would be useful. like what OS what version of the Games etc.

Just installed DS 1 and 2 from steam, ran the registry fix and installed this mod. Unfortunately I am unable to recruit the companion Ulora in the Crypt of the Blood or something along those lines (also there is a hidden block I cannot interact with that is in the room unlocked by dropping items on the 2 pressure plates).
I am running a fully updated Windows 8.1, in steam I used "Set launch options" to set the resolution to 1080p and I am not using any other mods. Is there a work around for this?
Otherwise this mod is an absolute blast and I am enjoying every minute of it.

Just a bit more info... the Krug next to her did start attacking the first time I entered but now they are green on the map and do not move.
To be able to help you we will need more details. Here is some information that will help us.
What is the verison/revision of DS1?
If it is not 1.11.1462 you must download and install the patch
What is the version.revision of DS2?
If your version of DS2 is version 2.30 (which most steam versions are) it has the broken world version and you must use a different .exe file. check the thread for the link.
We will also need to know the exact name and version number of each of the files in your Dungeon Siege 2 resources folder. So that we can verify that all the files are of the latest version and that no files are missing.
I know it is a pain do do all that but there are so many issues with getting the steam version to work correctly we really do need this.

Is there any other irregularities that you noticed using this mod? Please check that you have the latest files, the krug appearing multiple times in the crypt exit should be fixed in the latest version which can be downloaded from the thread's main page.
The registry fix allows you to install the mod but due to changes made to the steam version of DS2, modding priorities of certain mods aren't recognized by the game exe. This relates to KillerGremal's content pack as that used to be compiled by the DS2 Tool Kit which isn't recognized by the Steam version. I did think that the latest version of the Content Pack, 10z, did fix this as KillerGremal used tank creator to compile it instead of the Editor. Have you this latest version? If not you can download it off the main thread page - I've updated the link to reflect that it's 10z and not 10y.
Ds1 just says 1.11.1, where do I get the update and do I need to redo the mod?

Other than the non touchable block mentioned, not really. There are some missing book cases here and there indicated by books/candles floating on walls.
I DL'd and used DS1_Legendary_Mod_Betav30_Installer. I will download the new one. Can I just run it or do i need to uninstall?

after reinstalling you will need to update the files based on what is listed in the first entry in this thread.
This is a link to a ds2 exec that will give you version 2.20 and does not require a CD.

dropping in 10z doesnt allow me to use my old char
you may have to correct all the issues first. you may loose the character and you may not once all the things are done. You should make copy of your saved games. If you tell me what your character is I could always make one like it for you.
Mod versions may be updated from time to time, invalidating former savegames due to a content check performed by DS2 itself.
However a tool called 'All*Saves' will help here, you can use it to start DS2 automatically deactivating this content check then.
So in conjunction with the *.exe file bare_elf has posted, you also should install All*Saves (or the Succubus manager).
Reinstalled DS1 and 2, ran the mod, pulled the individual files from this page and added them to the Resources folder while removing the ones they replaced and imported the new exe launcher. Can't test if it works as my character is not recognized even when using allsaves. I believe bare_elf may be working on some magic to generate a character for me when i pmd the details.

Thinking about the hiring of NPCs on the DS1 maps where some characters can not be hired by some primary characters either do to the skill type or race. I think there should be two choices when you play. Some people do not care if a ranger can not hire some of the rangers or mages can not hire some mages. Others would wish the game to work like in Dungeon Siege 1 where any primary character regardless of skill or race can hire anyone else. I guess we could issue a patch for the second choice. No real rush, there are so many other things that still need work that are far more important, such as your new son, fixing the problems with Adepts :), fixing other issues that are broken on the maps do to changes and or updates that fixed other issues.
Trampi where are you on the map (Kingdom of Ehb), have you made it to Stonebridge? Did you find anything else you have questions about? I have made it to the Traveler Camp. Yes I know but I have been playing this map for many years both in DS1 and DS2 so I can move quickly. But moving quickly I tend to overlook some things. So if you see something strange tell me please.

Like I told you in a PM I was playing a game of The Utraean Contingency with Elys Succubus Modlet enabled. While doing this I noticed the NPC outside Horty Olof's shop was not there. The Three Helmet Icon was there at the foot of the stairs However the NPC was missing. In the past I remember her being there, but once I could not hire her and once I could. I have all the mods at current level according to the forum list. Now I am not sure what the problem is but I do not think it is the Succubus modlet.
It could be one of the third party maps. I saved at the save point prior to Horty Olof's shop so I will try removing things to see what I can find.
UPDATE -- First I turned off the Succubus Modlet. The only change was that my primary character was not there. went back to Horty's Place and the NPC was still missing.
Next I turned the Succubus modlet back on, got my primary character back. (I knew this would work because I have done so before) Next I turned off all the thrid party maps, Lordan, Training the Hero, Search for the Past, Realm of Kings traveled to Horty's again and still No NPC.
Therefore I can say the issue is not with The Succubus Modlet or any of the third party maps. I will keep looking as it gives me a way to keep my mind off real life
That map is a work in progress. The character had been moved from there to Elddim (found at the mill) as part of a restructure and experiment with conditional recruitable characters. The hire icon is obviously a bug left over from moving the character. I'll check whether it has been fixed in the current version of the map I'm working with.
I've noticed that players don't seem to care for the conditional recruitable characters (i.e. your hero has to have some sort of affinity with the character) so I'll eventually phase them out and go back to how it was before but probably with a quest associated with each character.
Iryan I had forgotten that she had been moved back to the Mill at Eldim. I realize more than anyone that the Utrean Contingency along with the Legendary Mod is a work in progress. Where the real world has currently taken priority over modding for both of us. Yes phasing out of the selective hiring might be a good idea since most people did not understand the concept. I think having a secondary quest to be completed prior to hiring some of the characters is a very good idea, as it would provide more challenge. For example to hire a ranger you might have to bring them a harpy feather or other ranger related item prior to being able to hire them like a special pair of gloves or arrows found somewhere near their location but not in the town where they reside. Do you wish I continue to report what I perceive to be problems with the maps here in the thread, so that when time allows and you are updating the mod you will have my input? Take care

I really adore the incredible work you're doing here with bringing together two of the best games ever made. Thanks to you these games still are not forgotten. As I am waiting for a full release, I have not yet played the beta though. But I am struggeling with myself if I shall not try this out already in beta stage.
So for my concerns I wonder if there is some kind of FAQ (if not it maybe could be posted on ModDB for the other uninformed players like me), because I feel I don't fully understand how does this work:
- It says it needs DS1 & DS2 with or without the addons. I understand that with the addons there are more maps available to play, but does this also affect the original Kingdom of Ehb campaign? Do I see Addon monsters and weapons there if I have both Addons installed? What happens if I only have one addon (BW / LoA)?
- Multiplayer is not fully supported. Will it be in the full release? What kind of bugs does prevent multiplayer at the moment?
- The game was made slightly easier for beginners. Will there be some kind of ini tweak to adjust the difficulty settings by my own later?
If you feel you have the time answering and you consider these as legit questions, you may want to put them into some kind of FAQ to prevent you from further repeating, I don't know. Thank you for your work!!!

- you'd need to include some dialoque along the way, though
- by way of explanation/direction, etc..
A FAQ does sound like a good Idea.
Makes sure people know to check the game version and make sure they have the needed patches.
That the patches need to be installed BEFORE other installations like LoA and BW. as well as Legends And Adepts.
Point out what multiplayer needs to work.
That Yesterhaven and the Utraen Peninsula are available as single player.
List the Mods that are used and what ones have compatibility issues.
The new Equipment is available on all maps

At the present time there is no FAQ for the legendary mod however there is the Read-Me file, it does a good job explaining the Mod - More than anything this forum does discuss how the game works. what problems there are. I would suggest that you read all the posts. I will think about putting together a FAQ when time allows or at least expand the read me file. Currently real life is getting in the way of doing that.
