Dungeon Siege : disappearing parts of some levels

Hi to all,

I don't know if other players noticed that but sometimes parts of some levels disappear progressively : landscape and monsters.

I noticed that at the Black Forest (after the Goblin's lair) and when approaching the castle of Ehb (after the Droog village).

After that you can't reach the disappearing parts of the level and the game ends up with crashing, saving is not possible.

This bug is present since the release of the game even patched, with the legacy and Steam versions.

Like with the "gathering data exception" error, you need to save often, to avoid losing years of game.

This can happen under some conditions. However to help we will need some additional information.
What version of Windows are you using?
What Version of Dungeon Siege?
Are you using any Mods?
What Video Card are you using?
What Number of cores does your processor have?

At least it's something which can occur on other systems than mine, I'm pleased to hear that, because I searched many times without being able to find other players in the same situation. I tried with terms like "missing textures" or "disappearing textures" but often found other related textures problems.

I'm currently under Windows 7 Home Premium.
1.50.056 modified version of Dungeon Siege : Legends of Aranna (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?l=french&id=384309700).
GeForce GTX 970.
Processor with four cores (I don't deactivate extra cores for this game).

I already had this problem at the release of the game with a PC under Windows XP, mono-core processor (Athlon XP 2000+) and a GeForce 4 Ti 4800.

Thanks for your help.

Those blank spots are annoying. They are caused by a region failing to load which can be caused by a variety of things from Windows stating to do something in the background to a very slight power drop.

sometimes just going WAYYYYY back to another region, save, exit the game, then restarting works as this causes the region to newly re-load.

This is exactly how I fix this problem when it occurs. Works best if you go back to a town.

Many thanks for this advice guys, I also prefer going back to a previous land, even far away, than losing hours of games and equipment.
It's sad that this problem was never fixed. Sad
