Final Fantasy XIV

been playing Final Fantasy XIV with Elys lately on the Europe Moogle server...pretty fun game, all should try the trial, has nice graphics and nice tutorial system, movement is wasd, but can press both mouse buttons down for movement...come join us!

It really is a very good looking game and seems fun.
When I've visited game sites before they normally tell you about the game features, races, skills and classes. I was kind of disappointed that Final Fantasy didn't have that, just a sign up form.
So, what is it like? I think I remember from several years ago that you could level all the classes if you want, although it took a while, not sure that is true or not.
DE, what's the deal? Can you fill us (me) in? Inquiring minds want to know...
there is 6 races/gender (male/female) then the races split off, like one picture similar to Elves (light/dark variations)
the game has many customizations on the face, hair, skin color, eye color etc.
my current character archer uses a bow but its possible to learn others, there is also magic (fire, healers etc)
melee (axes,etc)
the game also has crafting (carpentry, ,leather working, armor making ,botanists, cooking and fishing etc)
has a bird type mount (that u get later like level 20)
the game has dungeons as well.
some random instances called Fate, which spawn in areas that are like 20 minute timer u have to kill so many to get it done
there is also 4 person instances (tank/healer/2 dps) battles that aren't very long that are fun as well
I am currently level 16. could say its similar to wow, except it more of the manga type characters, enemies are mostly animal-type creatures
quest system has a tracker and it shows blobs on minimap where to go so really cant get lost... also keeps a history of the quests u did. -
Great game. I played it for the first month or so. I kinda miss it, but eh. I can move on from it fine.
This kinda makes me imagine a more updated UI for Dungeon Siege 2.
I wish I could actually code.
Thanks for the info and the screen shots. Wow, that character customization is insane. I think I would be at it for hours...
(I'm serious, my boyfriend gets very impatient when we start playing a new game. "Well, talk to you in an hour or so" and then he heaves this heavy sigh and wanders off).
I like the look of the game, but never really liked to play on line. I would do it with this game but with only 8g of data a month I would run out of data to do other things.
that's what make this game even better can have boyfriend help play, make the game more funner and for the group content things like dungeons, fates or 4 person instances will make queing even faster as party... Elys tells me the game even allows something like character marriages so u can marry your boyfriend in game lol...also got to say the game allows players to ride other players mounts so later on u can ride each others mounts to move faster. also should say this game has a thing similar to Dungeon Siege 2 town portals where u click on it, it takes u to that destination....also have a return spell to return to main town, and teleport to goto certain town.
The game was offline yesterday for the new expansion and is back online today...also make note if playing the trial need to go into config and make sure the download expansion is off, otherwise will get the patch download error.
indeed there is quite a few options, kinda reminds me of the mods u were making for the utraen-halfgiant face painting, it has face painting too.
may also say the UI is scalable to so it can be changed as well, lots of options very much similar to WoW, with exception it not moddable
I don't think he will subscribe to another mmo, after WoW. He was pretty irked at many of the changes blizzard made. Me, I'll try out the free trial and see how I like it.
