I dont think the attachment worked so ill just tell you what the erro message says.
A fatal error has occured and the app must shut down
Unable to Enumerate any directdraw devices installed on this system
[Note: This error can occur if anouther application has exclusive control of the display. For example, Netmeeting's desltp[ sharing feature may be enabled or you are trying to run this app through a remote desktop in windows XP or terminal server. It can also occur if your hardware does not support 3D acceleration or if your video driver does not properly support DirectX 8.]
P.S. Sorry for the double post

A little more infomation about your pc would be very nice.
Did you install direct X from the DS2 CD?
Do you have remote desktop sharing enabled? Try turning it off if you do, i'm pretty sure that its enabled by default, since this is a fresh formatt.
Re-install the driver for your video card. The base support in Windows is insufficient. If you go to the web site for the card, you'll probably find an updated driver with extra bug fixes, too.
Try running dxdiag to make sure DirectX is installed properly. (Start - Run - dxdiag, and then run all the tests...).
It might also be helpful if we knew what your video card was... (with other machine specs too: Win Service Pack level, RAM, processor...).
Thanks for the help everyone! it turrned out that i just needed the newest drivers (i still cant figure out why even I didnt think of that one). Well thanks for all the help and the quick replies
- er, I know this particular problem has been resolved..

I mean, are there any known tech/gameplay problems that I should on the look out for...??
- I've not yet begun DS2BW..
..having yet to complete the basic DS2 game.. :P
