Editing single player party?

I tried extracting the files in the dssave, but none of the changes I make to party.gas change anything. I want to do things like changing my party member's names (getting tired of ulora and gyorn and such...).

I tried making a resource file from the mp_fg_based (or something) file that talks about all the female party members, but the only successful change that came out of that was changing their portrait pics.

So, anyone know how to change a party member's name in single player?

Thanks!

And is it possible to keep a party from a sp game in order to play some sort of nex game + like the veteran and elite modes in DS2 ?

Yes, you can use the map transfer mod by Iryan to transfer in complete parties or individual characters. You can choose to replay the same map on veteran or elite mode or transfer your party to a completely different map. One thing is you will need to use the DSLoaMod executable (the one that comes with the DS Toolkit) as well as the dsres files in the map transfer mod by Iryan.

Just using the DSMod or DSLoamod alone without the map transfer mod will work to transfer parties or characters, but the saved transfer game won't be able to load in the retail versions of DS or DSLoA. While you can play the game using DSMod or DsLoamod, it can get a bit weird, since they are meant to work with modding the game. I did play several hours of one map or another with DSLoamod but it started acting, well, weird. I'm sorry that I can't be more precise about what I mean, this thread is several years old and my memory isn't what it used to be. Wink

You can download the mod HERE and you will also need the DS toolkit if you don't already have it.

Does the DS toolkit still exist ?

Here some links to download this file (DS toolkit 1.7):

1) https://www.gamepressure.com/download.asp?ID=5408
2) https://www.moddb.com/games/dungeon-siege/downloads/siege-editor-and-siege-max

Good luck to install it (with Windows 8.1 and/or Windows 10)

Thanks for those links, Ulyss. I had meant to upload the toolkit after posting my earlier comment. I have Windows 10 and I was able to use SiegeEditor some time ago to preview some meshes and untank stuff.

I'll see how DsLoaMod responds when I try to transfer a party.

Here is another link: Dungeon Siege Toolkit - File Dropper

I'm going to see if I can get a more permanent place for the toolkit.

I think it's a good idea to edit/convert file dsparty to file dssave. No more trouble to use DSLOAMOD.exe (with modern PC). "Story" to follow ...

A little of topic but is it still possible to create a DS1 .DSRES file, is there still a tankcreator for DS1/LOA ?

Yes, you can use the DS1 Toolkit to create a tank.

How ?
