Aranna & Earth

Lore question: Is Aranna supposed to be a part of the real world?
Maybe the continent has since changed shape, as in LotR? Or there was a Third Cataclysm and it sunk? Could be identified with Mu or Atlantis or whatever.
Is there anything in the lore that hints at this idea or contradicts it?

As far as I can tell Aranna is not part of our real world. It is a game construct which is however real to the players, at least for me it is. After playing the game for hours Aranna becomes real and the real world a dream.

Nicely said of you lol.
My feeling is that Aranna is simply a "fantasy world" that is similar to medieval Europe, with fantasy elements added like magic & the undead and also typical races like dwarves and dragons. (The Krug / Trog / Seck / Droog are own inventions.) No connection to the real world are defined, but the game world certainly has humans in it.

This is a lore question, but maybe also a question of personal feeling. Like, suppose I made a map and mentioned "the moon", would it break immersion for you? I guess not. But if I mentioned "Mars" or "the Atlantic Ocean", would this feel "too real" to be "fantasy"? On the other hand, if I mentioned "two moons", would this feel "too scifi" and also break the "fantasy" immersion?
