Chatty Kathy's

How about a thread of general chatting? Maybe we can post things about ourselves to get to know each other better, or just post chatty stuff. So anyway, here are a few things about me:
My name is Kathleen.
I am in my late 30's.
I am 5 foot 2 inches.
I have dark brown curly hair that is to the middle of my back.
I like to read and write and play Dungeon Siege.
I like to post in forums.
My favorite pizza is mushroom

So...tell me about you? Smile

BTW, this is the "real" Chatty Cathy

I've seen commercials for this movie during the last couple days... makes me think of KMD / GGO (he used to have a GR image as his avatar): http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/ghostrider/

Ghostrider always seemed like a cool comic so this could be an interesting movie.

Man it's been cold here lately, down to -20 degrees Celsius. Only -10 today though which is somewhat nicer.

LoneKnight's picture

I always thought that Ghostrider would be cool for a movie, but this just looks kinda crummy.

I hope we get some snow at one point this week. In New England we've gotten virtually no snow this year, something unheard of. Global warming? Yes, I think so.

Too bad they cast Nick Cage as the lead... I just don't think he can pull off this type of role.

I have seen the commercials, well one, and this movie looks super stupid. I guess it is time to use another already existing crappy character/comic/tv show/remake/recycled crap again. Maybe someday something new will get made again.

Been a bit chilly here as well, and I love to hear all the people who were complaining about the lack of snow, now complaining about the -25 weather.

People can be so fickle :P

I remember several winters like this one in recent years. But years ago we always had at least a foot or so of snow on the ground. I didn't know you were fron NE, Lone. I am from Massachusetts. Smile

Yes, indeed I do, ma'am. CT, Boston, and VT are my usual stomping grounds.

We have been having little fluffy snow on and off the last couple days, maybe 1 inch total. But generally when it is 0F or colder snow is fluffy. Grrr we are not supposed to be above 0F until Tuesday. At least it shouldnt get any colder than 15-20 below as opposed to the northern part of the state closer to where I went to college they were saying -40F was possible in a few of the "cold" spots.

I saw on the news that today was the day the state set the all time record low in 1996 when it got down to -60F in Tower and Embarrass. I remember that night as I was in Duluth in college and it was a Friday or Saturday night and we went out to the bars anyway even though where we were it was between -45 to -50 (depended on what location they listed, though at anything colder than -20 it feels all the same to me - darn cold that is). But we were so smart we went to one bar, then walked about 1/2 mile down the stretch to another spot we frequented and then back again after more than one drink. Of course the return walk/jog didnt feel as cold though I that was probably the libations taking effect. I was just glad the car started for the guy driving when we headed home around 3am.

We are not expected to go above 0 until wednesday. Blowing snow every day, also. Weeeeee! I love snow! Laughing out loud

SJR- is that F or C temps?

What if the hokey pokey really is what it is all about????

I am in the US - Minnesota, so it would all be in F temps. I would put a C behind anything that is not. Minus 0 temps are not uncommon. The average low temp for January where I live is 2F and the high average temp is 21F. It is lower up in the northern part of the state where I used to live. Several of the cities in the Iron Range (area with lots of iron ore that was and is mined) get the lowest temps in the US (not counting Alaska) all year round. They are in lower areas that cool air pools in when there is little or no wind. Keke and if you were wondering it is currently -10F out. By next weekend it is supposed to be back to the 20's to 30. :sun:

That is truly cold. We get temps like that for cold snaps but an average for this time of year in my area is about 28-32 f during the day.

It's kind of frigid here too. -15C (5F) right now, and with the wind chill it feels like -27C (-16F).
IMHO, that's cold.

Loup_Ombrage's picture

Bah. It's cold-ish here, maybe 10 C, even though its supposed to be summer. I bet it'll get up to at least 30C when I go back to school on Friday (yes, Friday :S. Thank you Ministry of Education).

Heh, I remember when I used to live in Rochester Minnesota me and this dude decided we should run around barefeet in the snow and take pictures of it. It was -28F and it felt like my feet where burning when I got back inside. They got a long warm shower. Smile One of my better moments..

Is that what they mean when they say somebody is getting cold feet? That they pulled a solly and ran barefoot through freezing cold snow...:P ^^

@Loup, nice to see you around. Laughing out loud

Hey, that reminds me of a ski trip I took way back in high-school... We were in a big hot-tub one night, and some of us got the brilliant idea to run around the parking lot (in only our swim suits) and back to the tub (a few folks even rolled around on the snowy ground). Looking back on it now, I'm amazed that none of us got sick!

Here in the Blue Havens it is sunny

- forsythias are beginning to flower, celandine and snowdrops caper in the woodlands..
- the nightingales have been singing after dark, too
- so sweet to hear their rich melodies in the quietness of the night..

Have you seen Jack-In-The-Green?
With his long tail hanging down.
He sits quietly under every tree
in the folds of his velvet gown.

..I fear Jack Frost may yet pounce, though!

-----------------------------
..never mind the weather, just as long as we're together!

Today our highs are supposed to be low to mid 30s with a wind chill bringing it down to 20s
I know that may not seem cold to you guys up north but for here that is COLD!!! Our normal temps for the begining of Feb is around 50F.
BRRRRRRR my warm blood can't handle this crap!!!! I want my heat and humidity back!!!!! Well maybe not so much the humidity. But you take what you can get ya know!!

What if the hokey pokey really is what it is all about????

78 degrees, warm, no humidity and a nice breeze. That is my kind of weather... Smile A very nasty wind was blowing today and my forsythias are wearing mittens.

Here on Templaria it is frigid also...
-The tower of elemental frost is spewing cold for the entire planet on its usual cycle.
-The Klaws and Frost Dragons are hunting in the icy forest
-The entertainment of watching them take down fire krug is amusing

In reality, we've finally gotten about 4 inches. It's going to stay consistently cold for the next few days. I don't mind it; we're overdue.

My dog loves the snow, he runs around and eats it...I have to keep warning him about the nasty yellow snow though. ^^

around here, yellow snow is not candy... its when the bathroom is occupied and you really have to go, and theres snow outside, so you go outside and nature calls and woolah, ya got yellow snow... so please dont eat the yellow snow!

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I modded weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten skrit.
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
`'Tis some gamer,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door -
Only this, and nothing more.'

Then this dark elf beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance he wore,
`Though thy head be shorn and shaven, thou,' I said, `art sure no craven.
Ghastly grim and tired elf rubbing thy gamer's elbow
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Forge's Ebony bow!'
Quoth the dark elf, `Yellow Snow.'

Uh oh, I think I need a nap....
