Feedback? OK, I think I have some. Thanks again for bringing the site back (and working on it in your spare time).
Is StheD v2 going to be dedicated to Lisa (Witness) like the original was? I thought that was a nice touch, considering StheD was initially created as a place intended to preserve the SN community she created / nurtured, when her forums lock down.
There's going to be a front page with news and stuff isn't there? And a shout block...? ^_^
There will be a frontpage, with news and stuff. Maybe even a shoutbox.
And I agree with you on dedicating the site to Lisa.
On the "entry" page - you have spelt unfortunately "unfortuneatelly" - unfortunately...
Haha, I will fix that. Thanks for the heads up.
Glad to see you kept those clean lines - looks real neat!!
Glad #STD has again thwarted demise!

This site looks very good and i hope it will grow and grow, but i think that many things still has to be done...........A good look for the entry page will be a very good start i think. Thats the face of the site after all.
Hi, Sol -
I don't know if it's important, but the total number of topics and posts is missing from the columns in the "Mageworld" and "The Ultima 6 Project" sections...
- the twelfth elf hisself...
Ah. Prolly got messed up in the upgrade, but it works in subSilver and the new theme I'm working on a new one so not sure I will fix it.
Hi Sol & Crew,
Thanks very much for the new look "elf" style.. it's beautiful!! :cheerleader:
This new look, new today?, makes it very hard to see new posts. The icon by the categories looks very similar color now for read and unread posts.
Blondin - Glad you like it.
SJR - Yes, I'm gonna redo the icons. Hope you like the look otherwise.
Love the new look
Yea, like the look!! New look can bring in new members like me.
Well that's good.
Hi Sol..
- just a suggestion re. layout, etc..
At present, we've got just the 4 separate headings in the main forum..
1. Site
2. Dungeon Siege 2
3. Dungeon Siege 1
4 . Off Topic
- could these headings be shown in a contrasting colour
- to make them more prominent - and easier on the eye..??
I was wondering how much trouble it would be to put up some BG music?
Even if just on the front page, it would make a pretty big difference.
I think that is a bad idea. People with Low - Speed connections will be turned off when they have to wait for all of the music to load before they can even get to the site content. I find it especially annoying how the Falcon NW website has music that is throughout every page, It makes it virtually impossible for my old office computer to browse their site.
I hate sites that play background music, after one visit I dont want to hear the same crap again. I dont particularly care for a bunch of motion either. Luckily with noscript running I dont see or hear things on most sites, but on ones I have okayed they would be played/displayed.
If background music is added I can say I would stop visiting.
They probably can but that would require modding the forum software which takes more time than I have to give at the moment. Sorry.
And there wont be any background music.
- oh well, never mind..
- perhaps sometime in the future..
- thanks for the swift reply, Sol..
I think the shoutbox should be set up like the forums in that one cannot delete their own post, only edit it (other than the mods that can delete it). It is rather annoying to reply to something then have them delete their post so you only see a reply to yourself, I dont remember what I answered a bit later if there is nothing to see anymore.
Agreed. The shoutbox isn't very configureable though so they can still edit their posts.
I just wanted to say that I think that Sol and all the mods have done a fantastic job on this site. There for a while I know that there were alot of problems with hosting and I am so grateful that it was all taken care of so now we all have a wonderful place to call home. Lately there has been alot of fighting and arguing about different site issues. I know that this is a normal thing that on really good sites it happens from time to time. But I must say, this is very upsetting to me. Ever since I have been here this has been a community of respect. And I urge ALL of you to please keep it this way. This is my home as it is many others. I would not come to your home and disrespect you so please don't do it to mine either. I am not pointing fingers so please don't take it this way. This is a message to all members- present and future. Lets keep this a happy place ok guys! Now I will get off of my high horse and let you get back to your day and I honestly do hope it os a great one!!!! :stop:
Hi Sara
I have noticed the same phenomenom you are talking about. I think StheD is going through some growing pains. I agree that respect for other people is key as well.

Thanks Sara. I too appreciate the work done by our moderators.
I'm happy to help while I have the free time.
IMO, thanks should go to all staff (owners / admins / moderators) and helpful community members. This site only works as well as it does by maintaining a certain level of decorum here, and some certain community members may not be staff, but their timely and appropriate comments most certainly do help make SiegeTheDay a friendlier place.
all hail, the merry crew!!
'tis just a game.. but, oh what fun!!
- any plans for further improvements, sol?
