How's your game running..??

My current installation of basic DS2(v2.2) is running exceptionally well at the moment..
I've recently upgraded my 7600GT's graphic driver to the Beta 163.71 and it's performing
superbly..!!

absolutely flawless smooth, glitch free movement
much better (richer) colouration
the chrs actions all seem to flow quickly and with much more fluidity
the transition sequences between teleports is very smooth..

heres a piccie

..notice the flies around the light.. ace!!

- how well does your game run..??

DS2 is really pretty with all the settings and the videocard maxed. I need more RAM to do that though.. My computer is so old.. Smile

There is a certain example of Hak'u artistry in your screenie, Blondin, and the one I posted from that cave leading to the Rift site here is not definitely Hak'u in origin:

Yours shows one of the Hak'u Standards, of course. I find it interesting how the developers used these standards to indicate whose territory the character/party is in.

With my ATi X800XL and an AMD 3500+ i initally have played on 1024x768 with all option maximized and 4x anti-alising, after installing a camera mod i changed on 1280x1024 but now only with simple shadows and 2xAA only.
Most time the frame rate was above 40FPS (or even above Vsync) however with crowds of monsters i had to notice sometimes a notable performance drop below 30 FPS... Shock

@Blondin235: Watching your screenshot i have the impression you haven't yet turned on anti-alising?
Since you seem to have a quite good system it shouldn't be a problem to play at least with 2xAA or 4xAA - that would give a much smoother look.

According the char's borders (and if i remember well) the following screenshot was made with 4x anti-alising:

Just got through with Killer Gremal's "Mod-Pet-WarHound-Canyon-Alpha8" and here are some screenies to go with:

Receiving the Mysterious Teleporter Activation Stone:

Deru got tired:

Wake up silly Deru:

Yikes, He doesn't look that tough:

Everyone got tired:

Glad I accidentally summoned a town portal: (You can see it in the distance on the "death" screenie)

Garganturax and Mimics:

Mimics scare the living daylights out of me..
they're just so-ooo vicious - I actually left the
nasty one in Windstone Fortress, until I felt strong
enough to do battle with it - very nasty things, Mimics..

- BTW, the 163.71 NVIDIA driver has been certified via MS
- it works great, lots of improvement for high-end users..!!

After you came back to the Mimic, wasn't it stronger as well? I found a good combat tactic when dealing with them though, so they only scare the living twilights out of me. ^^

Some nice screens. Smile

However not to become too off-topic, just a little remark:

This big one is considered to be the onwer of the canyon. He doensn't see well (so you could sneak around his box/bay) but he hits so much harder if you plead him to come out.
Also his little Mosquito Naldrun Summon will become quite nasty if you don't get rid of her quickly...

Well a mod that is probably more performance related/affecting is the Kohlbeast Pet mod (generally for v2.2 only, but works indeed in v2.3/BW too).
The pet itself is not the problem, it's the creation of the shop area in act 3 - according on some feedbacks it may impact notably the FPS rate for some seconds. Also the little Morden invasion can be a challenge in particular for weaker computers. :-o
