I've just received the latest newsletter from GPG, and it looks like the next title GPG will announce is not going to be DS3... Chris Taylor wrote: I already hinted at another expansion pack for SupCom, and I’m even going to hint at another big secret: We have a new PC game that will be announced very shortly, and it’s unlike anything we've done before. I wonder what genre it will be..
I guess action-RPG and RTS are out, so perhaps a shooter (FPS / TPS), Sim / God game or an MMO?
I hope it's not sport based though... they're not my thing for sure. Sports are meant to be played in real life, not on a PC screen. :P
What? That's just crazy. =P Then you have to endure all manner of hardships. The resolution is good though..
if it's going to be a radical departure..
we can rule out battle/war and fantasy/adventure scenarios
what's left - platforms, puzzles, a builder-type thing like CIV?
somehow, I can't see a sports title
- the competition is pretty fierce in that area..
Plus the sound system is so life like... and the interface has absolutely complete force-feedback controls. ^^
Blondin,
I agree about the sport game competition... plus they're much better suited for consoles anyways. Since both GPG titles / franchises are third-person games, my first thought was a first-person perspective interface making me then think of a shooter... I guess we'll find out sooner or later.
I assume they'd want to re-use as much of their existing work as possible, so I'd bet on a third-person platform game. That would retain the continuous world as well as the 3D rendering system they have, but scrap the party, experience, and skills stuff in favour of more puzzles etc., and some fancier animation.
I just hope they don't make it x-rated, or my Lara mod will become redundant!
Never! :P
A propos (swimming) Lara - we have seen games playing in ancient times, they even reached space and other surreal places, so why not settle a game underwater now!?
Well i can't imagine that GPG will make a full-action submarine simulation or so, however playing a game that takes place on the sea bottom surely would be different.
