re-installing WMP11 may help re-order the Audio codecs..
- otherwise, you can..
- go to the Hardware/Device Manager
- under "Sound, video and game controllers" you'll see "Audio Codecs" listed
- double click this and wait a minute or two, for the box to appear..
- select "Properties" and you'll see a list of codecs
- you have the option to move these up and down the table of priority
- double-click on "Windows Media Audio" - it's usually around 7th place in the list, IIRC..
- make it No1 in the list - and make sure that the "use this audio codec" radio-button is selected..
pardon the pun - it sounds like a codec problem..
