you can tweak the options quite a bit in UT3
but it's resource-hungry, I agree
I certainly can tell it's capable of a lot more..

my trusty rig's just over 3 years old now..
I've upgraded to the max over that time..

- currently:

32-bit XPHome SP3, via..
DualCore P4 3GHz
with 2x1024G Corsair RAM on a Foxconn 661FXME mobo
ATI Radeon HD3850(512)AGP gfx
Creative SB Audigy4 sound
1x160G + 1x40G HDD (ATA)
SyncMaster 932mw monitor at 1440x900 res

- with lots of tuning and tweaking, it copes with most things (just!)
- next upgrade will be a complete new system
- a major leap forward, I hope..
