I like using DXTBmp cause i can set up my picture editor to run to edit pictures and then it lets u import the pic back in to save to dds. also it supports alpha

after you set up your pic editor, u can send it to the picture editor save with the picture editor, it usually saves as bmp and then click reload on menu, the alpha has to be sent to editor on its menu and reloaded afterwards as well on menu.. then u save as dxt5 format.
