i got lost on the "I can not get any program that I currently have installed to read them nor will MS seem incapable of finding any automatically by searching the web.." not sure when that comes about....

once installed in resources just run dungeonsiege2 and the mods should work.

if you are wanting to read the contents of the mods to see what they change you will need a tank extractor which should be listed at this sites downloads section.
