Thanks for the comments everyone! Sickles, I think I had just leveled up prior to taking that screenshot. It's a ds2mod character I used to test this spell. There were a lot iterations of Fire Nova. I had to test it thoroughly for crashes. I pin pointed what was causing the crashes it seems.

What might be a good contribution to the modding community is the explosion and tweaks to the number of missiles and their properties. I could make a beginner tutorial for DS2 SiegeFX that has the player tweak a spell from only template editing. A slightly more advanced tutorial could have the user edit parameters to create unique SiegeFXs. We are certainly lacking tutorials on DS2 SiegeFX. DS2's SiegeFX is more advanced than DS1, but I it has greater capabilities. Let me know if it's worth writing up tutorials. I don't know if we get any new modders, lol.

The hit explosion an edited version of the cmage summon effect. I noticed while casting that it looked cool. It almost reminds me of the apocalypse spell from Diablo 1. As with all my DS2 work, the spells will be open source. I created a few other fire spells. One is simply a fireball that shoots 3 instances of a fireball with the delay property set to true. That was done all in gas! One other spell shoots a wave of firebolt looking missiles borrowed from Firespray. The main projectile in Fire Nova is a tweaked version of Firespray. What is interesting is that the spell is nothing but particles. The size and the number of particles can be easily changed.

You can also "fragment" the particles like in this iteration:

Here is the wave version I was thinking about calling "Wave of Firebolts:"

I was just messing around and ended up creating "Fire Nova." I can't wait to mess with lightning spells. IMO, the lightning spells are boring and weak.
