I clicked the file name and got my usual "Do you want to open or save..." from which I selected "Save As" and ended up with a .ds2res file in my chosen folder.
IE 11 on Windows 7 (64bit) SP1.
From the description, this is the type of well-thought-through mod I appreciate.
EDIT: I've just has the same problem but with a different file (Killer_Gremal's MLA beta5k) and the solution (in that case, so try it here if you need to) is to RIGHT CLICK the file name and select Save Target As.
