You should get a better mouse like the Logitech Laser mice. The one I have was the cordless mouse/keyboard, offhand I think it is the mx1000 that at the time I got it was about $120. But they work really well and the mouse has recharge base that you put the mouse in when not using it, or like I do I only put it in there when I turn my computer off. It seems to fully charge back up in a short time, plus the times I have left it off the recharger for longer periods, it has taken about 10 days to run out. The keyboard batteries have never gone out. The keyboard just uses 2 regular double A batteries. But I dont think that keyboard batteries ever go out. I have an old cordless keyboard on my third computer that I have had for 5-6 years (it was one of the first cordless models) and I have never had to change the batteries on it.
