left hanging? well, i actually kind of expected that as i saw the signs before that gpg is going to close down into insolvency.
i strongly suggest digging deep thru the net to salvage any official downloads and information that is ds related as gpg is quite likely going into liquidation soon. so its all hands abandon ship time! save all u can, lads and lasses!
so, much thanks to elfy for salvaging anything ds related.
That's old news that they were goggled up by Wargaming Net and renamed Wargaming Seattle. Happened about 7 months ago. At least most of the staff retained employment and many of the ones let go have been rehired and they are still hiring this month.
The price paid was of course losing the Gas Powered Games name and losing independence on what they create but since GPG strengths were in RTS games anyhow and Wargaming Net owns the Total Annihilation brand, it probably was a good fit for both sides.
So don't expect anything other than RTS games from them now and with the rights to Dungeon Siege owned by Square-Enix, don't expect any Dungeon Siege branded games to be any different from DS III and certainly don't expect any modding support (no you'll have to pay for DLC).
