I had finished all of the quests in the legends of utrae 3.2 except for finding Tajj's people, flooded sanctuary and the quarry quest. So I thought hmmm maybe they are near each other. So From Hiroth I took the main Teleport System to Lang, then the short range teleport to Redwood Gap, completed the flooded sanctuary quest, then headed for Merin via the sulfer tunnels which placed me in bottom of the quarry. Completed that quest. So all that remained was to find Tajj's People. Now here is the weirdness. I decided I would look at the quest to see if I could find a clue that I had missed and found the quest had been completed. I never found the half giants Now the picture in the quest log, looks exactly like the half giant camp in LoA but I never found it. Pokes iryan with a pointy stick.

Hehe My apologies but I can't help but laughing that the map been released for so long and only now has this been discovered. Nobody has mentioned this discrepancy before to my knowledge.

The answer is actually very simple. I believe from memory in v2.0 of Legends the Giants actually existed on Eastern Island but madness had gripped them and they were hostile. In v3.0 and up they were replaced by the Asparagorns.

So when the Half-Giants were replaced the quest wasn't changed and thus the discrepancy and no Half-Giant camp. When you reached the Island the quest was completed at the same time as the Island Quest completed so you didn't notice.

So I'm sorry you spent so much time searching for something that didn't exist but I hope you had fun again in the old map.

Looking at the files in the mod while researching this (as I've forgotten about this discrepancy as well) I found a feature of Legends that would be great in the DS2 maps if it could be implemented in a seamless manner. That is that the monster populations often change in a number of regions between map modes or as the documentation states, you won't be fighting Krug all the time near Elddim. That's something I really don't like about DS2 map modes, in Veteran and Elite you'll always be fighting the exact same monsters in the exact same areas. It's one of the reasons I've never played much beyond Mercenary Mode in the Maps.
