Why do men's and women's shirts have buttons on different sides?
Women's shirts have the buttons on one side because it was assumed a maid would be buttoning the shirt, thus making it easier for someone facing the woman to button. Men apparently can button their own shirts. Just a silly antiquated thing.

If I was a woman, would I get any buttons at all?
Nope, no buttons. Can't trust the womenfolk to button their own shirts, doncha know.
