If you are buying regular cd's you dont need to worry about drm and such as long as you dont have autoplay enabled. You can just rip the files off as mp3's and then you have unencumbered music files. Of course if you only want 1 or 2 songs on a album you are way overpaying for the cd but most things I have bought the last couple years (which is only about 5 cd's) dont have any "singles" to begin with as most things I listen to are not the top 40 type music and they dont really have singles for them.
