I like front rank hybrids and rear rank shooters (ranged or mage). At Quillrabe (UP's Droog town), with a party of 7:
- my hero was skill 45 at combat magic and skill 40 at melee;
- just one person had STR as highest attribute, but only just, and his ranged skill equaled his melee (37);
- three others were better at ranged than melee, by different amounts;
- another archer was backup healer;
- and the last was a nature mage with strong secondary in combat.
That way everybody had something to contribute to a shoot-out - blow those Droog archers away - but the group could withstand melee enemies too.
That's from a saved game I've dug out. No dwarf mage at all - that must have been a plan I abandoned. Memory playing tricks, as I said.
